6 Series Grand Coupe

Look way nicer! :D

Plus it shall be a depreciation bomb, 2-3 years these will be an epic bargain. ;)

Just thinking that.

Currently I reckon an F10 535i is top of the list as my next car, but if you can pick up a 640i Gran Coupe for a similar amount in a few years time I may be tempted to go down that route.

It is a 4 seather though, but then I question how many times I have a 3rd rear passenger, and at best, it's twice a year. If the load through system is not an option (like it is on the F10) then it's a good call.

I can see it as a rival for A7, CLS etc. but where does BMW's own 5GT fit in the model hierarchy with this? I know its based on the 7 series, but don't both cars fulfil a pretty similar brief?

I worried about going from a 5 seater to 4, but in the time I've had my car any time I've really needed to carry 5 people there has always been someone else with another car to help out and it hasn't been an issue at all.

Nop its due in around mind Jan

Will look forward to your review!

I presume you had a good poke around one. Do you think with the parcel shelf out it would be OK for jack Russell's? I want to swap cars and want to stick with a 5 series but don't want to spend F11 money so a GT is tempting (and it seems I am in the tiny sliver of society who don't absolutely hate the looks of them)

I actually quite like it, nicer looking than the F10 M5 IMO.

I assume we'll see an M6 version of this with the 4.4 V8 TT? Should be a half decent car! :D

"Beauty Seldom Seen" ? I wouldn't go that far, but it definitely looks ok, and I am sure that i'll see a lot of them around.
Maybe its just me but I have always found 4 door "coupes" rather awkward looking, but I find this and the A7 the best of the bunch aesthetically.

Yes I took one for a overnight test drive and to be honest its not a bad car at all. It looks a little funny form the outside but inside its a very very nice environment. I also like the fact that there are very few on the road so its feels like something a little special.

It was a choice between this and a 730d.

I will post a few pics when I get it.

Doesn't float my boat, nor does the A7.

Prefer the CLS, but I still don't really see where these types of cars would fit into my life. I don't want a coupe with four doors, and I don't want a 4 door saloon that costs more than a 4 door saloon and is possibly less practical.

Other than the fact that they don't look anywhere near as good as a coupe and are less practical (only seat 4 in some cases) and more expensive than the sedan version.
When they try to do the same in SUVs its even worse.

I also don't really get the market for these.
