Battlefield 3 thread - Server details in opening post -

Since the other day (i.e before todays downtime) the game keeps failing to continue when a round comes to an end. After the 45s wait i get the black screen with 'Loading' in the bottom right of the screen where it stays for ever. I end up having to shut the game down to rejoin the server. It's happening every goddamn time.

Anyone had this before?

Got on a server for bout 15 minutes then suddenly it wouldn't let me spawn or click anything on the menu's, great :/

Just played a few rounds on smogsys server, new maps. They take a bit of getting used to as i havent played bf2 in a long time.

What a steaming pile of absolute turd this game really is. It's such a shame because underneath the rushed, pathetic, botched, profiteering surface hides a decent game.

You'll remember a few weeks ago it simply refused to connect to any server. Each time a different and completely random stupid error message - kicked, server timed out, lost connection to EA online, could not reach server, etc etc.

Well, the problem went away on its own and i've been able to play fine. Just in the middle of an hour long game just now - bang. Server timed out.

And since then, despite 40 seperate attempts, the game refuses to connect to any other server. I've changed no settings, I've done nothing to the router, every other online game I have continues to work fine.

Just for goodness sake!

Sick and tired of taking a few hits and i'm down sometimes just one hit, yet it takes me an entire round to bring someone down sometimes I don't yet every shot has been on target by the hit marker and most of them headshots. I've tried adjusting the network interloption in options but nothing. How can it go from simply amazing with every shot being the death of a player to me dieing in one hit!. Most of the time DG was correct in saying ITS MY ISP, ITS MY PING ETC. But my ping is much lower I moved house, my connection rating is spot on and my speeds are a hell of a lot faster

BFBC2 / BF3 this will be the last bf game I buy, back to skyrim for awhile till bf3's teething issues are ironed out

Lol, quite literally fell asleep trying to login, wake up at 11:10pm and try and login and it works. Might be able to squeeze one or two rounds in before its time for bed.

Loving Wake Island so far,Was my favorite map in BF2...i just wish it was more like the one in BF2 though as its not so tropical and sunny anymore....still a good map though.

Not tried Gulf of Oman yet.

Gulf of Oman is retarded, once the enemy has a number of enemy bases on land trying to get a plane or helicopter anywhere near it is asking for death. BEEP BEEP BEEP all you hear, hit the flair button and it's instant beep beep again before more jets pound you.

Cant stand the reticles on the sniper scopes, id much prefer to see the dot type used on the m24 in bfbc2.

Karkand is amazing, GUlf of Oman was a blast, not too sure what I think of Wake or Sharqi at the moment.

I can't decide if Karkand feels smaller, seems to take much less time to get between flags, anyone else think this?

someone in a recon takes a jet or heli and goes the long way align and then sticks a spawn point down for everyone.

the map was designed for a commander with artillery barrage and supply crates though which could make defending a single flag on the beach and holding it not that difficult with team work
