HBO: Boardwalk Empire

After watching all of "The Sopranos" series,Which i absolutely loved...im after something else to watch now,Is HBO,s: Boardwalk Empire any good?

Any other recommendations?

Boardwalk Empire is excellent, definitely worth checking out. Another must see show, if you haven't already, is Breaking Bad. I've missed my train stop twice due to that damn show! If you don't mind a mild fantasy setting, Game of Thrones is very good, and if you want funny, slightly dark, twisted and weird, it doesn't get any better than the australian version of Wilfred.

Try FX's "Sons of Anarchy" if you liked the Sopranos. Same sort of thing but with motorcycle clubs instead of the mafia.

no chance.

the only thing that comes close to the wire or even beats it is deadwood.

Boss has nowhere near the same character development. in fact the characters are rather lame tbh.

boardwalk empire is good but nowhere near as good as:

deadwood (amazing character development)
the wire (similar quality of character development as above)
sopranos (pretty good character development)
first half of seasons of lost
first half of seasons of the shield
game of thrones (very good character development)
spartacus
rome

brotherhood is similar to boardwalk empire (worth looking into) irish americans who are corrupt and have power, 2 brothers one a criminal and the other a politician.

deadwood would be my first choice though, then the wire (simply because the quality of the wire, picture wise is bad, its only 4:3 and grainy imo)

It was shot that way on purpose, both counts.

I enjoy Blue Bloods, another excellent show. Easily the best cop show still going IMHO, although its so much more than that.

Try Mad Men as well, little in the way of action but more intriguing characters than the Sopranos imo.

Blue bloods is poor IMO. It should have been cancelled rather than Chicago Code.

I really enjoyed "The Wire", fantastic. Good stuff. Band of Brothers is just brilliant too, fantastic series.
