Who is OCUk's Oldest Gamer?

I'm 25, first game i remember playing was fifa96 on the megadrive. Awsome game!

You're 1 year older than me and you can only remember the Mega Drive?! Poor show. :(

I remember my first console was a generation before, the super mega awesome Master System II. Remember all of these:
  • Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
  • Desert Strike
  • Shinobi
  • Taz-Mania
  • Renegade
  • The Ninja
  • Darius II
  • Special Criminal Investigation
  • Donald Duck: The Lucky Dime Caper

Back when Disney games used to be freaking awesome. *wipes tear*

+2 Im 33 as well, started on the Commodore 64.

Ive come to terms with gaming just being a hobby that I like, not embarassed about it any more.

+3 - Will be 34 in April... Started on the BBC B+ - Elite off a tape drive - played it till the computer overheated and froze, waited for it to cool down again - rinse/repeat.

Turned 31 on Tuesday, wasn't as painful as 30, was a good one as it was my first b'day as a Dad! :)

First game I played was more than likely Pong, the first I have memory of playing was Sopwith Camel on a XT (186), with it's revolutionary CGA graphics. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sopwith_(video_game) Beautiful. :D My parents had a C64 that I used to play too. Good times!

32 here. My first games machine was a Atari I think then a Commodore 64 and then a Spectrum 32 or something... Then every Christmas since its been the latest console until 5 years ago I started PC gaming :-)
Hmmmn I wonder if my mum kept my Commodore 64 and games in the attic...

41.

My dad was a sucker for shiny stuff so we had a lot of early game stuff when we were kids.

I started with the Binatone home console, had pong and a shooting game.

Also had a Bandai Missile invader.

Then a range of Grandstand hand held games (Astro Wars!).

Onto a few Nintendo Game and watch before the computers started;

ZX81 & Spectrum (I still have them)

Amiga 500 then a 1200 that is in the loft, I might make my children use it so they can see how lucky they are!

One of the first electronic games I remember is 'Blip' by Tommy, not sure it counts though clockwork might be a bit too old!

I think the only one myself and my brother didn't own between us is the Amstrad cpc464 was it?

Happy days....

I’m 37 and my first gaming computer was one of those Amstrad CPC tape drive systems that had all those roland games, anyone who can remember roland in the caves, roland on the ropes etc is considered a mature gamer.. Games would cost £1.99 - £7.99 for a major release and were on tape.

I’ve been gaming ever since, Amiga, SNES, PS1, PS2, Gamecube, PS3 PC and now laptop gaming its amazing how far its all come along. I was only thinking how good it is now I can plug a gamepad into my laptop, plug some USB virtual 7.1 gaming phones into it, fire up Batman Arkham City and enjoy gaming on my lap whilst the missus watches crud on TV. And its all in decent sound, looks great and so easy and quick.

Some of the younger gamers amongst us just don’t know how lucky they really are. PC gaming today is a doddle compared back in the days of DOS 486 gaming. Although, 1994 - 2003 were IMO the best days of PC gaming… Such great games back during those years. Still got some of my PC zone mags from that era.

Sadly with baby on the way in Jan 2012, my gaming career is soon to become less of a hobby and more of a quick go whenever I can, but I’ve enjoyed it… *hugs his gaming laptop for dear life* lol

Bah, I'm a young 'un at 25
