A Slide unveiling performance estimates of NVIDIA’s Next Generation Kepler based 28nm GPU has been exposed. The slide shows that Nvidia will brand the Kepler based GPU’s as Geforce 700 Series instead of Geforce 600 Series and pits the upcoming 28nm GK-100 based GTX 780 Flagship card against the current gen flagship GTX 580 GPU.

The GK-100 based GeForce GTX 780 would be NVIDIA’s Next Flagship Single core card based on the Kepler 28nm process. feature a total f 1024 Shaders (Cuda Cores), 128 texture units (TMUs), 64 ROP’s and a 512-bit GDDR5 Memory interface.

All the Benchmarks were performed on a res of 2560 x 1600, Win 7 64-bit OS, R297 series graphics driver, Max Settings in game with AA/AF turned On and the test setup included the Core i7 3960X Sandy Bridge-E Processor.

Performance was tested in a total of 8 games and Kepler seriously obliterated GTX 580 in every one of them. The chart shows a performance increase ranging from 70% – 130%.

Lets wait for a review in a years time. These graphs are most likely made up of guestimates to try and put people of buying an amd 7 series. The fact that they are going to be called the 7 series says we wont be seeing this chip for awhile.

Is this a big fat troll or is there a valid reason for going from 580->780?

The top end 6 series part is a no go if you look at nvidias latest leaked code names. gk102 is what it should have been called like the gtx480 was gf102. The gtx580 is called gf112. The top end part on the roadmap is called gk112 which suggests gk102 ie. gtx680 was scrapped so they are gonna name this top end part gtx780 (gk112).

Well thy started calling their mObile chips 6xx, so perhaps on desktop they are reserving that model number for refreshes of fermi.

and frees up room for a refresh of their mobile line up eventually, they don't make things easy for customers do they.

Well, whatever the performance (unless it's shoddy as hell), I will likely be going 2 x GTX 770's late 2012/early 2013. Just fancy going nvidia again cause had AMD/ATI for so long.

That along with a 2700k equivalent Ivy Bridge, and I would be hoping to hang on to them until at least 2016. Though maybe that's wishful thinking :)

Hmm, I wonder at that resolution just how much of that performance increase is memory usage related.

I was wondering the same thing. Are any of those games memory limited on a GTX 580? BF3 and Crysis 2 perhaps? The heaven performance gain is promising as it's so GPU heavy.

If you mean the amount of memory very little I would bet, the 512bit memory controller will help somewhat but the main reasons for performance will be the doubling up of practically everything (CUDA cores, TMU's, ROP's).

Will they run hot or cool?

The problem with the 8 series was the overheating.

Increasing performance only works long term if the technology has sufficient cooling.

Ill start saving up, the next card/cards i get with be the ones that come out at about the time these new cards are all released, not rushing out to buy anything yet.

AVP 3 beta, Last light beta...

Good to know we have tangible things to compare this graph too...

I put about as much faith in this graph as I do FSM.

According to - http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18295737 and http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18349119

Looks like Crysis and Metro both do at 1600p and BF3 seems to be about 1600mb-1700mb during online play at 1440p.

Such a bore trying to understand what "leaked" benchmarks mean, roll on the real release :D

If them results are anywhere near the truth I will be waiting for kepler and updating my screen to 2560 x 1600 then too. :) have a year to save for the top end Dell 2560 x 1600 and kepler it seems the cards will not be out till almost this time next year.

If you believe that Kepler won't be out for another year then why would you put any stock in these figures?

Graph is nonsense. Kepler won't be out for months so performance figures are impossible to predict. Clocks won't be set yet, shaders might have to be disabled to improve yields and drivers would be in a very early stage.
