Over the top Christmas decorations

Walking to shop last night and spotted this house near me, just complete over the top compared to the rest of the street, notice a lot more houses like this as the years go on.

Just looks tacky and desperate.

This is how it looks 11 months of the year.

We have a set of fairy lights on the gutter and a small set of lights on a bush in the garden, all for festive decorations but sometimes you have to say WTF

I quite like it like that for the 1 month of the year. The whole of the street will do this where my parents live. Personally, I have nothing outside my house. I just buy an extra set of fairy lights for indoors for every year that I've lived in my house, so I'm now in year 6 / 6th set.

Meh,Good on them..at least they have made the effort...seems this past couple of years not many people bothering with outside decorations for some reason,Im not feeling Xmas this year...just does not seem like xmas.

Just spotted the santa riding a bike light, lulz

It had no design, no flow, its just a total hash of lights.

Probably because we haven't had the snow yet, like we did in 2009 and 2010.

First pic looks like our house, everyone else just puts 1 set of lights across the front of their house, bunch of boring people

Same, and I'm not that big on Christmas.

I'm not sure how it's desperate either. Unless OP means their desperate to increase their electricty bill?

Na, just exams and heart fm has put me off Christmas songs forever lol. We used to actually care about it and always have the tree up by Christmas. Just over the years, we started caring less and less.

I quite like the houses you see with white icicle lights hanging from the gutters.

There's a little villiage on the way to Lincoln called Doddington and nearly all the houses have these, they look quite classy.

I did this the 1st year we moved in.

Bit more reserved now :-)
