Partnership ?

it has to be the same GPU (another 6950) and alspo the same VRAM (2gb)

No offence, but do you know anything about SLI/X fire?

I said same GPU and gave the 6950 as an example. The 6970 and 50 are the same GPU

You forgot a 6990:p

IIRC, they have to be the same VRAM size aswell.

Go onto AMDs site and read up a bit on crossfire. Alternatively, go on wiki :)

Yea i did miss out the 6990 but again you are wrong as amd cards of the same family dont need the same vram. A 1gb 6950 will happily work with a 2gb card but you will then only have 1gb vram in this setup. Another thing i see people thinking is an amd oc card will downclock to the slower cards speed. Most of these misconceptions come from people thinking about sli. Crossfire imo is the better technology in a lot of ways.

Oh yeah, my bad!

It's Nvidia that don't play nice with eachither with different VRAM right?

I wouldn't really class that as compatible though as you lose a good asset from one of your cards that you then can't recover.
