Iphone 4s On three

Slightly envious of that. I've never seen more than 2.5Mb on O2, and that was in central London. In most places I don't get more than 1.5.

In Norwich, I found O2's 3G network to be very slow and probably very congested. Whereas with 3, having mobile signal nearly always means having fast Internet access, which is great for streaming audio. :D I use about 6 - 8 GB /month through streaming audio and the network just handles it. :)

EDIT: Oops, didn't mean to double post.

Ha, I managed to get 3Mb the other night. Not surprising, as it was 1am and I was walking past a phone mast on my way home :p

O2's network is very congested. There's a big difference between off-peak and peak speeds, especially in cities. I love the sound of the high speeds on Three, but I just can't face the poorer coverage outside of urban areas, so I'm sticking with O2 until Three either extends its 3G coverage as far as other networks' 2G or signs another deal with another network for 2G backup.

I have not long got the iPhone 4s off three on the same price plan that you are talking
about and I have not had any problems yet (touch wood), were I live is a little bit like a signal dead zone but I 1-2 bars, but the signal never goes completely.

I was with T-Mobile and they are crap, signal was always going no matter were I was
would drop calls the lot, would never go with them again.

My i4 is presently on o2 and I spend more time on Edge than I do 3G in the Middlesex area. Right now I'm in my hotel room in Harwich, Essex and the thing has 1 bar of Edge. I need to move really because due to the following.

This iPad is on 3, and maintains a 4-5 bar signal everywhere at home, on the motorway an even here in Essex. Speetest.net app shows a 2mb download vs 0.5mb of o2. o2 are just dreadful imo and I've noticed no improvemrnts in the London, Middlesex area.

I ended up with the Tmobile contract guys,

I Got a reduced rate contract didnt pay nothing for the phone got similar minutes so im happy.

I just need a case for the phone now.

I have already been up and down to glasgow with it and have not had issues at all with signals the entire 480miles up and down :P.

So all is welll at the mo im goin to test out the speed soon as possible and get back to you.

I just decided i didnt wanan change network fromtmob to three after being with tmob for 5 or so years.

We've got iPhone 4S's on three and very pleased. With three you can even use tethering out of the box to use the 3G on your laptop, etc. Tried one on Orange and they wanted extra for tethering.

Starting to <3 3's data.
During a recent trip up north, there wasn't a single spot on the journey up the M6 where we didn't have 3g.
Managed flawlessly to stream songs via spotify for the entire journey, as well as provide internet to an iPad for the younger one in the back, awesome :)

I'm liking the 4s on three. Coverage is ok where I live and the internet speed is awesome.

I am also looking into the Three pay monthly contracts for the iPhone 4S. Would be great as the tethering would be fantastic for my laptop on the train to uni and out and about :).

Is Three the best to go with?

Please let me know how you get on with it mate? I am thinking of doing likewise.

Will do, taking my iPhone to Apple Milton K's this weekend with an issue, if they replace it I'll flog that and pay the remainder of my o2 contract off and go to 3 just need to borrow a handset from a guy I work with to check signal at home and if its any better than o2 (I have to stand in one corner of the living room to get any signal) I'll be off :)

screw the insurance. As long as you arnt using it for work, house insurance covers mobile phones.

I second that, my Barclays current account (Addition +) which costs £6 a month provides insurance for mobile phones, gadgets etc. Half the price and more cover.

I am on 3 on a sim only contract on my iP4 (bought it PAYG), got a cash back offer and works out £8 per month!!! (Originally £15 per month, £80 cashback, just received).

3000 text
1G allowance
600 mins cross network.

Network coverage is good, speed is good, price is good, allowance is good.

I have an iphone 4 on 3 through work and my wife has one on O2 and it's actually quite rare where she will have 3g and I won't, so I can't really complain.

If you're within range of multiple towers, it can be a bit funny picking the right one however. When I go up to Leeds for business and am in my hotel room, I can have full bars and perfect 3G and then without having of moved the phone, it will switch to another tower where I will have no 3G and only one bar.

Hmm thats weird, I get much better speeds then that in central london.

Three are brilliant. Have great 3G coverage in my experience, and it is always rather quick.

That and the all-you-can-eat data is great.
