Clamped! £125 release fee.. but..

She should have spent the money on a makeover, not an SLR.

A person my dad knows recently returned to his car getting clamped by a couple of guys. He's about 6'5 and huge. Let's just say he drove home that night without paying a penny. :p

Sorry to bring up an old thread but..

Heres a question. If I use a lock pick to remove it, clamp it to a lamppost with their own padlock and then add a padlock of my own, can I then do them for criminal damage if they cut my padlock off?

I have a pair of bolt cutters just in case this happens. I always check parking restrictions before I park but it's there just in case some of these thieves try their luck. I'd just cut it off and drive away, let them try and prosecute if they want.

Never had to use it, mind.

nice contribution. That all you can do, mock the poor lads car because he was clamped? Grow up!

Mock his car? It's an e39 5 Series, my favourite BMW generation of all time.

What a frankly terrible post, perhaps you should grow up rather than me?

Sucks when point scoring blows up in your face eh :p What was your contribution?

In that case, i stand corrected! I couldn't tell it was an E39 even after comparing to a google image search side by side! after having it pointed out in the post after. And it was early in the morning, and as for cornflakes, i went to have a bowl of sugar puffs, only to find the milk went out of date yesterday :(

:p

Well, i've had my sugar puffs this morning so i'm much happoer today, and ready to take on the world at work :p

I would not have paid them, instead come back and chop it off.

The directors name sounds like an immigrant to me,think she needs to learn the UK Law.
