You do realise that money is not taken out until the free 30 days are over...the amount of people that wine is ridiculous.. if you don't like it, don't play

Yeh i do realise that, but with 30 days playtime included, I should not require to add a subscription before I start playing. Buying the game provides 1 month. Its then up to me to pay for more time before the 30 days run out.

I have played many other MMOs and never had to do this before. They wouldn't have this problem if they left it to sort out with the 30 days.

ofc people realize this, I take it you just worked this out thought you were clever so posted it here!

compensation ? for what ? not reading the emails and information supplied ?

sorry but put down the pitchforks people and think for just one min, not being able to play for 1hr or so after maintenace isn't the end of the world !! ffs it's not even 2012 yet !! :p

agreed :D

This again is utter rubbish, just to name a few of the recent ones, AoC, DC, WaR, lotor, you played your first 30 days then you had to enter your details. this is just another penny pinching move, they know that often people once subscribed less chance they cancel.

One other thing I looked at the the conditions when I bought this game no where that I can see does it say IF YOU DON'T SUPPLY YOUR PAYMENT DETAILS YOU FORFEIT YOUR FREE ALREADY PAID FOR 30 DAYS!

If you only played wow, does not mean you know what all mmo do!!

LOL chill dude, no need for ragin.

WoW, Conan, Aion, RF, Warhammer and many others that we spent a little time in and as far as I can remember I always setup the account and select usually a 3month cycle for subs

Well...

My sound doesn't work it's not in my Windows 7 volume mixer.. I reinstalled sound card drivers and got it to work. I was changing video settings and it's stopped working.

I have bad fps.. with a 560ti.... It goes down to like 20 FPS when turning around, otherwise its like 50 max. Thats on mid with shadows off. Though when I'm inside it's fine.

Ahh!

Fortunately I put my code in last night and I was playing again at half 11 this morning. Sadly, another two days of work ahead, but then I've got ten days of freedom. Yay!

Not a good enough excuse tbh. I redeemed my code but nowhere obvious did it state you had to have an active card sub of else you wouldn't be able to play so I didn't bother.

Not a problem if they left the subscription open for the period of the free month, or alternatively put two and two together and realised there would be a mass of traffic and reduce the rest of the websites services for a few days to compensate. They did neither!

It was VERY clear. Companies can not be responsible for people not reading the screens presented before them.

It's also standard practice, not a problem in anyway & I'm laughing at those stating they're breaking the law :)

Why leave it till the last minute then complain about the site not being able to handle ridiculous traffic? Oh yes, the same reason people move their guilds onto the same server, then complain about queues. And the same reason people get extra early access, then complain when it isn't early enough. *sigh*

This is exactly why I always shake my head at people taking holidays or making other special efforts for MMO launches.

Sure, EA could probably have avoided this by throwing a lot more money at their infrastructure, but why would they? If there's one type of gamer who can handle repeatedly clicking the exact same thing for hours on the off chance that at some point the god of RNG throws him a bone, it's the MMO gamer...

This sucks big balls, my copy of the game only arrived this morning so i couldn't register it any earlier. Have been waiting to login for about 2 hours.
