The law, morality and what is deemed "ok"

Banning a caught drink driver's licence, and then letting them get a new one 5 years later is surely even more moronic though?

The law allows that.

Law needs to become stronger, I think the license should be removed completely and not given back if caught under the influence of ANYTHING & PROVEN. There just is no excuse for alcoholic drug using morons who drive while on substances.

Alcohol can make you smarter, health more creative and can improve your reaction time. Different substances have different influences on people. I know when I'm drunk I can run really fast and for a longer period.

Errrr, that's about it improving IQ for moderate drinkers, not when they're drunk but when they're sober.

What alcohol does do, is give you a greater belief in your abilities - it doesn't give you better abilities!

Some people are more alert when they're drunk.

When I'm drunk I play COD, FIFA 12 and Skyrim better. Im more in touch with what I'm doing. I remember when I was younger I got drunk with my mates and we stayed up all night and got 100% on Grand Theft Auto with no cheats whatsoever! I woke up the next morning and I didn't even remember playing it!

Seriously, don't judge everyone the same way. When I'm sober Im not as concentrated but when I'm drunk I'm focused, I have my game face on and I'm more focused.

Your link or "source" is bull.

Alcohol doesn't at all make people better at things, it alters your own personal perception.

Drink driving under no circumstances is good, I've lost three friends due to it. It's un defendable, just don't do it.

Alcohol in moderation also adds two years extra to your life. So does chocolate!

Accoding to reseyurch.

I think it depends what alcohol, and I'm not sure about adding years to your life, but studies have shown that dark chocolate and red wine in moderation can be beneficial in preventing heart desease.

Also, did you know, in some states in America it is perfectly legal to drink beer and drive a vehicle, you can't be drunk but you can have a beer in your truck and if you get pulled as long as you're under the limit you won't get done.

I think we're swaying here slightly back onto the drink/driving thing, that is not what this thread is about, can we stick to the questions please

Are you sure about that? ;) Drink driving does not make you drive better that is for sure!

/"Ban for life" - anyone caught under the influence I say.

Oh yea, one girl that I went to school with died in her freshers week from drinking too much.

She had collapsed in her bathroom after getting back from her night out and never woke up again. Should I be sympathetic?

Yup, thats right. But moderation means 2 units a day for women, 3 units a day for men and not a single bit more.

Oh sorry, I didnt read your response and misinterperated.

you should make things like that more clear, by saying that you lost 3 friends due to drink driving made it sound like they were drink driving.

Not to me it didn't.....It was perfectly clear what he meant, especially as he was responding to what I said.

Tests say different, regardless of how scientific Brainiac is, they did a test about the influcences that distractions can have on your driving ability, one with a brass band in the back seat, with with heavy metal playing on the stereo, they also tested the difference between drinking and non-drinking drivers.

One guy got behind the wheel when he was drunk and he did better than the guy who hadn't had anything to drink, like I said, not sure how scientific the research is, as there are to many variables, such as drinking experience, age etc....

But surely that shows that it differs person to person?

Should get rid of driving under the influence. To much moral outrage and skewes people opinions. Should just have road side tests like some American states and with technology a reaction/awareness test on a tablet/Nintendo ds. Then it catches everyone driving when they shouldn't, be it driving under the influence, tiered or anything else.

No its not! Alcohol can make you smarter! FACT!

However, it does damage your health. The same can be said for Marijuana.

Drink driving is bad but I know people who've done it on times all their lives and are now retired and have never had a crash and have a clean license. Swings and roundabouts.

Same with mobile phones.

http://news.nationalgeographic.com/...upertaskers-driving-talking-math-cell-phones/

1 in 40 can drive fine whilst using a phone. 39 in 40 are retarded. I can drive and use the phone without a problem. I think it should be part of the test. If you can't use a mobile and drive whilst concentrating then i think you are too stupid for the road to put it bluntly.

Alcohol doesn't improve anyones ability to do anything, it decreases the ability to do even basic tasks.

Why would you believe a "science" (That word doesn't do it justice as it isn't) television show over hard facts and proper science?

So join me in supporting the death penalty for drink drivers!

You know its a good thing.

I don't see how taking another life in revenge for one really helps....although I will say that if it was my child killed by a drunk driver then my attitude would less objective and not only would I support the death penalty, I would enforce it personally.
