Sale raiders are disgusting

You could probably fix this by not having terms and conditions that violate a consumers statutary rights (In the case of anyone with faulty goods). I understand why retailers try and do this - you dont want the queue twice the size - but you shouldn't be suprised when it annoys people.

They're not violating their consumer statuary rights..... If a retailer chooses to have in their T & C's that they don't do refunds or returns on a given day then so be it. Just don't go on Boxing Day.

I have never, nor will I understand why anyone would ever want to spend Boxing Day looking for a 'Bargin/Saving'?

As for those who queue outside Next at stupid o'clock, what the f#@$ is that about?

Really do feel sorry for people working in retail. :(

Ahh thanks I been doing it for 22 years :D
And worked today.
A customer complained to me that we did not have a Item, I told him they would had to have worked Xmas day for him to have had the said item.
His reply was 'Well they need to pull there finger out then' :D nothing more I can do then a :D not going to get me down :p

I popped into comet to buy a new TV, things were not marked down as much as I hoped. So left empty handed. The places in Team Valley were packed!

No where I wanted to shop was open, since most shops are still shut. You should know what the general public are like!

you went to the valley on a boxing day........brave man

I wonder if these people have specific items in mind that they want/need at a cheaper price, I guess that might make a bit of sense but it seems to me that a lot of these people are just desperate to get out and spend their money after being stuck in the house which leads to rampant buying of reduced items that they probably don't really need.

I don't think they all do. I recall a conversation with my girlfriend, when before I met her, her and a friend of hers would go to a Next sale and just grab one of everything in her size, buy it, try it on at home then take what she didn't like back later that week!

She never needed any of it, just part of the look how much I saved on this culture.

Do it online, hassle and stress free :)

These days online there are bargains all year round anyway so I don't see the reason getting up at 6 to buy some clothes from NEXT of all places just because may be it is 5% cheaper than the week before.

To make sure they fit properly? Also to make sure that the clothes they're buying, will suit them?

I had a pretty good day today. The sales started mid december but for the next 6 days will be slightly better (5% ish). I had made sure that my diary was full and all my appointment slots bar one were booked up so most of my day was planned. The couple of hours I spent on the sales floor were busy but nothing like the OP described.

Had a few issues with items in the mailer being out of stock already but my answer to "those" customers is that they have been on offer for 3 weeks and unfortunately they had missed out.

Not the record day in sales that some stores have suggested and it was pretty mobbed, but I was still far to relaxed from christmas day to pay moaning customers much heed or let them get to me.

Plus £50 an hour on top of my wage will do nicely thank you! I have already signed up for next boxing day ;)

screw ever working in retail again :) customers were annoying on the best of days. working in the game for 5 years has left a bitter taste in my mouth. went out my way all the time to do the best for the customer, yet still got abuse. i know how you feel.
