RC Helicopters

^ Nah from what I hear they are built of hi-impact plastic and the rotor blades are some kinda plastic that flexes...they hardly break and if they do a good company will send you replacements. Cant find much info on their flight time lol. Wanna get one tho!
 
I just bought a Blue Syma s107.

Havent got it yet.

You can upgrade the battery from a 150mah to a 240mah. But you will need a few balance adjustments.

150 mah. Around 5-7 minutes
240 mah, 10-12 minutes.
 
get a eflite blade mcx2 for learning to fly indoors i think your been optimistic wanting to fly out side.

mcx2 is awesome for learning on and u can buzz about the house good, then when u master it you can change the links on the swash plate and have it in aggressive mode for handling, spares are cheap too :)

got loads of choppers in the house between me and dad and got a blade mcpx for my main chrimbo pressie and earlier i got a blade msr x with left over pressie moneys and im having a blast :)

For those that don't yet know the trick, the little RC choppers that fly around in a level circle are really great to modify. I took a bit of the undercarriage off with a knife to make it a bit lighter and then stuck one of those gold drawing pins in the polestyrene nose to weight it forward slightly. Get much more momentum flying around with just that.

Maybe they've added a bit more to the things now though, I got mine a couple of years ago when they first started out...
 
I treated myself to Mini Heli No.9808, it was on sale for £15 and I couldn't resist:

When I wrapped it and put it under xmas tree as a present for myself, my parents thought I was mad, but once unpacked everyone wanted to give it a go. It's a great fun for the money paid. It's very small (200x45x95mm), has 170mAH battery which takes half an hour to charge via USB and flies for around 10 minutes. It's very durable, crashed it pretty hard quite few times and so far nothing happened to it. Never had one so I am still getting used to it, also flying in a room requires a lot of practice, definitely the best purchase I made in a while!
 
So so so tempted! I was looking at these a few months ago but didn't go for it in the end.

I'll end up getting the Syma S107 before this slow day at work ends.
 
If you're intending to take up RC helicopter flying as a hobby, then the absolute minimum you should buy is a 4 channel one. This way, the controls will be the same as you move on to bigger and better things.

It's easy to fly, you can buy spares, and you'll actually be training your brain the right way.
