How Hard are You?

Not hard at all. Actually never been in a fight since I left secondary school and I'm nearly 38 now! I've taken some Krav and Judo lessons for self-defense, but never been in a situation where I've needed to use them. I do have a 4 month old baby now though - so I think my genetic programming to be protective may have kicked in :)

Agree with the above though - nothing winds me up more than idiots behind the wheel. They seem to think that being able to depress a pedal with their foot somehow makes them ultra cool and formidable

I have a glass hammer and seatbelt cutter in the car for the extra special ones that still give it large after i've gotten out :)

Seriously? :o pure lols, Hopefully you get pulled over and the Police find that stuff. Try growing up and ignoring the morons who sit in their cars talking rubbish, it's only name calling, It won't hurt you :)

I don't like fighting as I don't see the point in it!. The last one I had was about 2yrs ago when some hit me in a night club!, then I got into and had it out with him!.

Most Friday's and Saturday's in job more on payday weekends I am dealing with at least 2-5fights each night and the most I hate dealing with are woman fights!, as they don't know when to shut up and walk away!, with blokes they do.

Have only really been in 1 fight, when I was a lot younger and it did not end in my favour. I would like to think that my mouth could get me out of any situation that I may find myself in however, if presented with a situation that required me to resort to violence then yes, I would give it a bloody good go, particularly if the misses was in danger.

You hope the police find an escape hammer and a seatbelt safety cutter, two things you're recommended to actually have in your car?

sort of saying "well done" in terms of safety prep I don't see the issue.

get one :p

I've been sick as a dog since 3am so am not feeling very hard at all today, I'm not even going out for fear of being attacked by school girls or summit.
In fact I feel so weak this thread scares me. :(

I know some very hard people, they look nothing like most people think hard people look, thuggish, tattoo's, big builds, big fists to be seen nowhere more often than not, but they are harder than a hard thing. What this also tells me is I am so far from being hard it hurts, like virtually everyone else on this thread I suspect. Really hard people are more often than not the people you never see as the hard people, but an event happens and that perception changes for ever.

This thread does really have to be taken with a pinch of salt eh? ;)

Back on topic - I wouldn't consider myself particularly hard, I'm fairly short in stature (5'7") not especially muscular with a slim build. Granted I did grow up in a fairly rough neighbourhood which led me to a few fights. Remember your height and build (if massive) will only work as intimidation for so long, usually until someone gets small man syndrome and wants to prove a point. I've been stabbed and slashed by idiots with knives before but now I'm a little more mature (mentally) than I was in my younger years I'd much rather try and talk my way out of a fight rather before resorting to physical violence.

I've never been told or read that it's recommended to keep a glass smashing hammer and a belt cutter in my car? granted I'm sure in some absolute crazy chance of a situation they could be useful.

I was more bemused by bigjimmy the road rage hard mans comments tbh!

I'm about 5ft 10" and weigh just under 14st 5lb - I'm not scared of anyone, and I'm not scared of taking a punch (I'm just that ugly anyway, it can't possibly make it any worse.) but I would never, ever say that I am hard. That would just be an outright lie. Although, I do try and avoid fighting of any sorts when it is it all possible.

if you ever crash into a body of water you'll need the hammer to get out, also helps if your seatbelt gets stuck after a crash or if you need to help someone else out of a car.

Would much rather talk down a fight, or avoid it completely, but if I needed to defend myself or something that was important to me, I believe I could be a horrible barsteward if i needed to be ;)

Why i am entitled as a motorist to carry a glass hammer and seatbelt cutter.

Quite surprised you defend someone who boasts about stuff like this.

Hope you never give him reason to get out of his car at a set of lights and come after you :)

Not very. 3 major fights, lost one. Got beat so bad on the lost one i've never fought since (3 guys vs me and i never got a punch in before i was reduced to a smouldering wreck on the pavement).

My dads an ex brawler though lol, he was once locked up for 3 weeks pending the outcome of a fight, he hit a drunk guy (that felt up my mum, they were still dating then) in a bar so hard he was in a coma. No charges were pressed (hell its the Caribbean) after the guy woke up. Hes a weird mix though, highly academic with degrees/B.As etc.. but athlethic and as non geeky as can be, he smashed a muggers face in so hard they caught the guy when he went to the hospital for a fractured jaw, my dad did get beat but there were 2 of them in their 20s and he was 56 at the time.

Never been in a fight here, but I did headbutt someone when I was in year 8 because he was provoking me. Teacher gave me a slap on the wrist but she quickly saw the funny side of it, given that the child has already been expelled from 2 schools and got expelled from my school soon after my headbutt.
