Traffic stops, I guess the type of car does make a difference.

well...perhaps haha.

Burns, have you completed your standard course then for marked vehicles as a special?

I have never been pulled and I have drove all sorts from 1k cars to 35k cars.

Seems likely you must be bit of a Hooner, reason for getting pulled all the time. Maybe your car is flagged to.

I really wouldnt look twice at bmw 5 series to be fair in the job. Usually focussed on Mazda MPS's/Scum looking cars

Only had experience of this once, in my friends E46 3 series a copper pulled us for driving through an area that's as rough as a badgers arse (She came straight out with it, "Nice car for someone your age isn't it?". 15 mins of checks later and we were on our way.

When i swapped to my current shift pattern (1pm-1am) I was getting lots of police attention on my way home. I was getting pulled once or twice a month, now pretty much all the coppers know me and it doesn't happen any more. I think its because I was the only other car on the road, and they were bored.

I'm a Special Constable. So to answer your original question, yes I am.

I know technically you are correct, and what you do is admirable and all that, but I can very easily see how you saying you are a Police officer when you are a Special can rub people the wrong way, as, no matter how you swing it, there are people don't see Specials as real police officers.

Those people are ignorant to what Specials do.

Anyway, tell that to the Met Specials who were out in riot gear during the disturbances and tell them they're not a real police officer.

Not really. Your posting can be pretty obnoxious when it comes to you claiming to be in the Police force. You know the stereotypical bullied at school police officer everyone loves to hate, that doesn't really exist but people who want a moan at the Police will bring up? Your posting quantifies it. I say this as someone who was going to be a Special myself, that was, until I started socialising with other wannabe Police officers.

Its the equivalent of someone in the TA making out they served front line in Afghan with the Royal Marine Commandos far isolated far outside Bastion. Yes they may have gone to Afghanistan, yes its admirable that they volunteer their time, yes they may have gotten in a slightly hairy situation, but they are not Royal Marines.

I was too busy rioting and being part of large groups of people who drove the cowardly Police back during the original Tesco riot to be having a conversation, I am sure I would have bought it up had they won that evening though ;)

I've only once been pulled, and that was for speeding (up to 52 in a 30 when I was much younger). A stern word, and watching the video in the back of the unmarked police car that followed me over a significant distance, and I was let on my way with a warning to slow down.

I was really quite relieved, 3 points so soon after passing my test whilst still driving one of my parents cars would not have gone down well at home at the time, but I was told I was speeding over a sufficiently long distance that technically they could do me for two offences. Meaning 6 points and need to take my test again!

More recently, I have been followed a couple of times late at night in the ST (not just a case of 'cop car was behind me', I mean I was followed over a significant distance over multiple junctions/turnings when nothing else was on the roads, until I arrived home), and I once noticed two officers leaning forward to look at the car, but thats all.
