Shame on you for bribing your own loyal customers.

I spent over 2 weeks, wasting my precious time in doing objectives, spent incredible sums of money on buying 'Great Gift Pile' games and other relevant games in hope of achieving something spectacular or something worth the sacrifice and all I have been getting in return is worthless bloody Coal + crappy duplicate Coupons. I'm done with this load of nonsense!

Time to get back to my University work, life is more important than wasting my hard-earned money and precious time with such greedy and money-oriented business' who give absolutely no priority nor have any concerns whatsoever over their loyal customers.

Somehow it's Valve's fault that he decided to spend loads of money buying games he didn't want

Quite shocking that this is the only annoucement they have made. It really should be noted on the main site. People are going to be wasting coal for valve vouchers.

I saw a notice on the objectives page this morning. Luckily I did as I'd still be knocking out achievements instead of crawling back to bed.

LOL wasnt that the guy who spent £100 on games or maybe was someone else but was moaning he wasted £100 on games he didnt want for the achievements to get coal/games etc :D

Pretty sure that wasn't there earlier today. They made the annoucement on the forums yesterday and god knows how long before that they actually ran out.

Peoples ability to complain about things they are given for free never ceases to amaze me...

True enough, however as usual Steams handling of the situation, one that I expect could have been avoided if it was planned properly has been less than stellar. Considering that getting 7 coal is less than easy, it would have been nice to see a higher amount of games come from crafting than it did from the single achievements to make it worthwhile. Yes its free, but it just seems the logical way to do things, more effort = better results.

For most people Valve vouchers and games are useless with the possible exception of Portal 2. I find it quite hard to believe they have run out of everything non-valve all at once, its more likely that they've been running low for days and have been making the odds lower and lower to get non-valve games and vouchers. They surely expected this to be extremely popular and should have had backups in place.

At the end of the day though, we must remember that this is a PR exercise to drive sales and that it has for Valve at least worked very well.

They are electronic vouchers, you can't just 'run out'. I expect its to do with limits the publishers have put on vouchers being available. Maybe the original agreement was to run the promotion till the end of December, so valve have no agreements to give out vouchers for other developers after then.

The other thing people are forgetting is that these vouchers are valid till March. You have 3 months to continue trading them around to get ones you want and trade away ones you don't.

Is anyone else getting really slow downloads dying to play LA Noire left it on overnight and just checked now Its downloaded 10 gig still saying 2 hours and 43 minutes to go but the download rate keeps dropping to 0 bytes :(

Mine is doing the same, although for some reason thought it had only managed about 2GB overnight until I made it validate the files and it then remembered it had actually downloaded 10GB already.

It seems to be down to the title strangely, I've had certain games max out my connection and others download at a snails pace. Tried changing the server in the options?
