Oh mr purple, is that why my laptop is broke?

yup buy an imac and get rid of that unwanted hair

the problem wasn't the shop it was ACER I'd never buy a laptop from them ever again

My dad has an Acer laptop! It's about a year old but he seems to happy with it and it's not been problematic either.

Every brand has their lemon party tbh.

To be fair, we get a lot of acer laptops back. Mainly because their keyboards break so easily, but also because they are made of balsa wood. :p lots of dells too

Why did the OP suddenly flip out? I just read the thread from the first page and I still can't fully comprehend it.

Because it's easy to flip out when you're on the internet :p

Many moons ago I bought a Creative Nomad Jukebox3 from them and the screen failed after nine months. They replaced it on the spot. Those were the days when they still had a decent customer service.

I had one of the 30GB models, loved it, that was back when iPods were still 5GB

you sound like a tool tbh as with most people who go in and think they are smart doing that sort of thing, i can bet good money you wouldnt be able to do sales and have spent more time in your room than you would like to admit :)

you're 'ard

Oh lordy, if I have to go in there and save a friend or two from the praying mantis sales staff then so be it, I go well armed with a sense of humour, some places beg to be mocked.

Am I just getting confused or that Quad-Core pic, does it not say above and below the red oval AMD Athlon X2 7550 DUAL-CORE processor?

or does the X2 part mean it is a Quad?

But this has got to be one of my main pet geek hates:

Thing is they have to advertise to the general public, who in the main have absolutely no idea about computer tech.

Can anyone here think of a better way to upsell to a quad core processor in a sentence which everyone could understand?

I've worked in their stores (not for them thank god) and the majority of customers who buy from them haven't got a clue.

"Can it do facebook?" is pretty much all they want, however my job and theirs as a salesman is to upsell to a better product.
In reality they could go away with basic £250 laptop but computer manufactures and retail stores wouldn't be around for long if they all did that.

It's like choosing a car if you don't know mechanics, take a friend who dose then you don't get sold lemon or get ripped off for what you don't need.
