*****Official Star Wars: The Old Republic Thread*****

just created my first character on my old SWG guilds server, went empire but no idea what they are so we'll see.

disappointed there seems to be no purely trade characters etc, perhaps I am expecting to much :(

Got to tweak the gfx as it currently looks pants but PC isn't great, we shall see how it goes.

If my old corp is dead, i'll probably be joining a pvp with ocuk players on it :)

Which server was that?

Does anyone know what causes that green **** to appear across your screen?

Good news about the upcoming pvp changes.

Just dinged 40 last night - got a full L40 pvp set for me & my companion (all slots + implants/ear etc lol).

I went from having 8k HP to 11k HP in one level & my companion doubled in power.

It does - but still no mention of fair rewarding for healers - bit worried about the open world PvP stuff too - a lot of emphasis again on needing to kill players, as a healer a barely kill a thing as I am concentrating on keeping the team alive :/

I get that too, got it on Tatooine and Alderaan. Using GT555M with september manufacturer drivers. If you are having the same problem as me, best I can tell its from a terrain object not rendering properly. Ill get a screenshot if I can tonight.

On an unrelated note,

I really like the look of those notes on PvP, looks like BW are actually paying attention to the community. :)

I'm quite enjoying myself so far, levelling a Sith Inquisitor.

I'm currently at Level 18 and Balmorra really does go on. I find myself paying attention to the main storyline but skipping through most of the side quest conversations. They usually boil down to kill x or collect y objectives coupled with the random missions to kill 30+ of whatever weak npc you happen to be fighting in the general area.

I've not done a single group activity so far, and i've not needed it tbh.

Looking at the game as a series of seperate single player campaigns with co-op, i quite like the overall package. I'm about 20 hours in so far. So there is still a load of content to get on with.

I will probably renew for a month after my subscription end and see how it goes.

I will say that after playing Tor for several hours with full voice acting and with an effort to add some story to the quests, it makes games like WoW look antiquated. That being said apart from the main story the game does feel like WoW with a Star Wars look and feel so far.

Really loving my Juggernaut in PvP now. I'm only missing the legs and boots from the Champion PvP gear and it's completely living up to it's name, just plows through people whether group based or 1 v 1. Have the Smash AoE crits up to 5k now without using a consumable and at valour rank 57 so will be interesting to see what it's like once i can start getting Battlemaster gear on at 60.

My only niggle with the class now is that it takes being level 50 and so much gear for it to be good compared to other classes, that Defense doesn't work in PvP and our resistances don't count or we have very little of towards a lot of the damage types done there.
