Racist? Should Diane Abbott resign?

Describing a political party as "lulz" based on the leader's lisp does sum up your lack of knowledge in politics.

Try again.

I know enough to know they don't have any agenda, (aside from slagging other parties off) the party is dead on It's feet. I could never understand why anyone would vote labour...

I don't understand the culture we live in, where somebody should be sacked for a single mistake?

For heaven's sake, let her get on with her job? We should all be thicker skinned. Obviously racist people shouldn't have jobs in government to begin with, but "gaffs" like this aren't just cause for dismissal in my opinion.

dont think she could have been anymore racist in her comment if she tried, no matter the context.

what a contradiction, pointing out racism by leaving a racist comment, idiot, she is a smart woman too, i kind of like watching her on tv, i'd like to think she isnt racist though and come out with it in the heat of the moment..i guess im wrong..

She should at least have the balls not to back track, I dont mind an MP having an opinion on something, but at least have the conviction to stand by any statement or comment made.

Why did she think she'd be able to say such a thing without there being some sort of backlash.

She's used to voicing her racism without any sort of backlash, since it's socially and politically acceptable racism because it's against "whites". So of course she'd think she'd be able to say such a thing without any sort of backlash. I'm surprised it's attracted any attention at all and I'm sure it will blow over quickly.

It's normal for there to be some groups that it is normal to be irrationally prejudiced against. The "acceptable target" groups change over time, but the basic idea remains the same - "It's OK against this group, it's wrong against that group".

She does make a valid point it's just wrong to generalise white people, the vast majority of whites are as much victims of this governmental technique as non-whites.

Religious v Atheists
Muslim v Christian
Working class v Unemployed
Public sector v Private sector

Imagine if Nick Clegg had said 'Black people love chicken'...

Should definately go.

He'd be ridiculed for missing out the fact that they like fired chicken..... also he would incorrect as he left out the fact they like fried chicken and watermelon ?
