Anyone been before?

Looking to go for this summers vacation with the girlfriend, and was just wondering if anyone has any tips or advice for what to do, and places to stay visit when there...

Looking to go for 7 days, so far have found a deal for £670 which is for flights and accommodation (Radisson Hotel). Is this a good price? Seems quite steep to me

Thanks
rk

I've never been, but I would quite like to go.

From watching Man V Food, I would recommend going to Mick & Angelo’s Eatery & Bar. Their food looked pretty great.

Been twice, both times on the way to toronto. Are you planning on just staying there ? You would be better off getting a hire car and visiting the other places around there. Toronto is a great city.

7 Days to Niagara?

Apart from the falls there's not really much to do there. It's very touristy, full of rubbish shops and chain restaurants. I think you'd get bored after a day or two.

When I went, it was a stop over from travelling from NY to Toronto and I managed to see everything in the short space of time there.

I wouldn't travel all the way to the states to spend 7 days in Niagara, go somewhere else and travel there to see it for a day.

These were my general thoughts too in regards to spending 7 days looking at a waterfall!! I looked into a NY and Niagara Falls trip, but this got very pricey. As for renting a car, I'm 23 so will be very expensive I would imagine...

its nice, I have been a few times. I would not do more then a day trip to Niagara as there is not that much to do around there.

Take the maid of the mist boat trip

There are some nice vineyards around Niagara on the lake, try the ice wine its really good.

Toronto is also a fun city, go see a blue jays game, talk a trip up to the top of the CN tower.

Then if you still have time rent a car and drive down to Québec City

Been twice and as above I wouldn't stay there 7 days its better as just a day trip. Have you looked at Canadian affair for flights? Last time I went a few years back it was £200 for premium economy. Maybe stay around Toronto area as there is more to see I.e. cn tower etc. Toronto island is nice too if you're going when the weather is warm.I stayed in Mississauga just outside of Toronto and it was easy to grt to many places. Green acres motel is where we stayed.

I'd definitely much rather have a few destinations in the trip. Toronto does sound good, my dad has been before on a work trip and said it was very nice.

My budget is rather limited at the minute, can't really spend more than £700 each.

Off to price up extra locations :)!

I was on business in Toronto (Burlington) and managed to get away one night to Niagra.

I enjoyed the main attraction, as others have said though, you seriously could'nt spend 7 days there. The rest of the place is like a wet weekend in Scarborough.

We ate in a restaurant at the top of a casino, it had a full panoramic view of the falls which was nice whilst you ate. Head a "Baseball" steak there, best steak I've ever had, literally melt in your mouth.

I went shortly after the poor student had fell in. It was awful to see the speed of the water before the fall and imagine her 10 seconds or so of pure fear before she finally went over the edge.

Don't stay in Niagara Falls, stay in Niagara-On-The-Lake, much nicer place and only a short drive away.

Like every one is saying 7 days in niagara would be a total waste. we went there for the last two days of out holiday to toronto and that was more than enough. Apart from the falls them selfs being amazing niagara is very touristy with not much to see.
We did the maid of the mist and jet boat tour which is further down the river but worth the trip it was great fun though we got totally soaked!
There are also helicoper tours over niagara which sounded good but a bit pricey.

Toronto its an amazing city with loads to do.

When I went we stayed in Toronto and was able to get a day-trip out to Niagara - which is all you need imo! (no need for a hire car either!)

Don't stay in Niagara Falls, stay in Niagara-On-The-Lake, much nicer place and only a short drive away.

This! Niagara-On-The-Lake is a lovely town to visit/stay. I've been to Canada 5 times now, and I always visit this place.

As for the falls, it's only really a day trip, so you'll get bored I'm sure. You've got the maid of the mist which was previously mentioned, but apart from that all you've got are tourist shops. You can take a trip through the caves behind the falls, but it's pretty short.

Another vote for staying in Toronto, awesome city with lots to do. Public transport was very good, quick and easy. Food is great, they have one of my favourite restaurants (Bon Marche).

im thinking of saving and taking the wife and kids to canada and maybe the falls as i love falls lol what canada really like? ive heard good things but whats people really think?

When we went to Canada we just booked the first and last night's hotels and hired a car. Tourist information was great in finding us places to stay and we did a sort of circular tour, Toronto, Niagra on the Lake, one of the national parks, Ottawa (stayed in the Château Laurier which was lovely) and then back to Toronto.

Niagra Falls was a day trip at most.

Thanks for all the responses. Will look into (persuade the gf) to do something more than 7 nights at the falls. I definitely want to make the most of my week over there, and seeing more of Canada would be ideal.

Just need to make it fit into the budget
