*****Official Star Wars: The Old Republic Thread*****

Been playing defense guardian since the start , all my gear is tanking gear, decided to try out focus for that "sweep" crit, wow. Just, I'm not even in dps gear and it's mad and I can still run soresu.

Not used to the rotation, just went into pvp.. first game top dps, Uh...... all the other 50's did **** all, and we still won!

I'm playing Republic side :(

Wanted to play Imperial after the beta weekends as I enjoyed the Bounty Hunter and the Imperial Agent classes, but from past experience in PvP games I always play the 'underdog' side as you seem to get more action ;)

Nothing should stop you having a character on both sides, you start on different worlds, and your first and second planet after the starting planet is different, then it's a case of visiting the same planet, but doing different quests.

Everyone should have a character on both sides.

The damage isn't bad at all + with both defensive CD's up - you will not die for at least 12/15 seconds, 30+ if you use the +30% hp + healing potions.

Agreed, endgame Jugg is pretty bad ass - a whole range of useful abilities, and not bad DPS either. Myself and a sorc managed to two team a 4 person heroic :)

Yep, it's my one regret not being the 'underdog' loved being that in Aion, so much PvP.
 
The only game being the underdog sucked in was warhammer online ....

It meant you didn't really achieve anything - adversly it was also boring the "bigger" side as they hardly got any kills....

The only way of addressing this kind of balance issue is to allow a way of players of switching sides.

Fall to the dark side -> move to empire option.

Become max in the light side -> move to republic option.

That way bored players on the side zerging will switch, guilds will move & switch - as opposed to people just re-rolling & starting again.

Personally, there is no reason why a sith warrior can't move to the light, or a jedi knight move to the dark side.

All classes are carbon copy mirrors anyway - so it wouldn't effect balance at all - all it means is more variety.

It wouldn't be a "paid faction change per-say.

It would be a long quest-line, within the lore.

I can't really see how it could create any problems - it's pretty silly that you can't - a Jedi knight who can't fall to the dark side....

It also makes the game feel like less linear - as long as it has a 6 month cool-down or something - takes ages + costs a lot, I don't see the problem.

Perhaps it will be something you could unlock after so many legacy levels - (which if used requires you to "earn" the same amount again to do it.

I'm on Exile's Crystal myself.

It's gotten really empty lately, such a pitty as I'd like some good PvP as well.

I don't want to re-roll though. I just finished act one on my Sith Warrior and I don't want to re do it all.
 
I spec into Annihialtion which adds a slow to players for the entire duration of Rupture, Force Leap 2 sec stun and Crippling slash for 12secs of -50% movement speed. You could always put 2 points into Rage tree - Stagger for an extra second of force leap stun.

I didnt put the two points into rupture as it isnt really an ability you tend to use that much as ANh spec as you mostly use ravage and Anhilation cycles ect...also it isnt i been told a great damage ability vs rage cost to use due to it isnt instant and cast can be interrupted.

I might though try it out and see how it goes.

So far biggest thing i miss is fellow english players, on Bxun battle circle there are some but we need more....hint hint COME NOW!...the waiting times for PvP warzones are pretty much 0 which pretty decent, given the fact it isnt even a empty server, just not enough brits there:(
 
I'm wanting to get into a guild possibly with one of you guys? I'm feeling really lonely on my server :( any suggestions? reb/imp I don't really care I just want a bit of social activity :)
