Name any 2 legged animals

Assuming you only want extant animals.

Pick a bird, any bird.

Kangaroo, wallabee. A curious kind of walking octopus the name of which I can't remember. Kangaroo rat.

Gibbons usually walk on two legs when on the ground in a curious hopping motion, I'd count that.

Some worm lizards retain their hind legs, although they crawl on their bellies and primarily move like snakes.

A curious kind of walking octopus the name of which I can't remember

Adopus aculeatus and Amphioctopus marginatus. Although according to QI, all octopuses have 2 legs and the other six limbs are never used for walking, per se.

Octopus?

Sure someone posted in the recent fact thread that they had 6 arms?

Edit: Damn you KD! Child..Step...beaten....Ginger!

Dog, cat, horse, lion, panther, cheetah blah blah blah.

Last time I checked my legs didn't have elbows and certainly weren't attached to my shoulders...;)

What are you calling what most people think of as front legs?

Forelimbs

I didn't actually know this until a few months ago when a biologist friend corrected me so I can't take all the credit for stating most of those in this thread are WRONG... :p

Every bird I can think of, and depending on how you define 'legs', monkeys and apes too. I don't think I'd have thought of kangaroos on my own though.

Like most questions, the answer depends on how you interpret the question - e.g. do meercats count as two legged because they have their front limbs off the ground sometimes when looking about, or not, because they walk on four feet? (I would say they are not 'two legged', but you probably could argue they were depending on how you defined 'two legged').

Yeah but it's still called a leg to normal people and in the context of the OP :p

That reminds me of something that riles up a lot go Geologists...

"Do you want to see my new Granite worktop?" *Points at black rock worktop*

In no way can Granite be black! Granite worktops can only be light grey or pinky colour...

Just because it's in common usage doesn't mean it's right.:p

EDIT: And naughty smilies, they stole the others hats! :(

Sorry, I'm a scientists, not a arts grad... ;)

The above definition is why the sciences will always be the best and why arts subjects like english will always be seen as second rate. :p

Actually more seriously, by that definition does that mean (human) babies grow arms at about 12 months?
