*****Official Star Wars: The Old Republic Thread*****

It seems totally the opposite to me. I've only ever come across very helpful individuals.

Agree.

I have stayed mostly in guild but on my brief pug sojourns I have only came across 1 ninja. No other type of idiocy just 1 greedy moron which is pretty good in comparison to wow.

Difficulty wise this is a lot harder, I always have to think about my pulls use interrupts if there are anything other than base mobs. Take into account all the heroic quests which are nigh on impossible solo. Compare that to wow and every zone, every where you just mass pull and faceroll to the next mob with no downtime. I never grouped once going 1 to cap after TBC as it was all soloable, I am doing a heck of a lot of group questing in SWTOR. You could level solo, but not if you want to complete all quests.

You played the char to lvl 62 and you still can't spell it:eek:

I played a ROGUE in all my time playing WoW, from BETA. Having people call me Rouge! really pee'd me off :p

I know how to spell it, Brain fart it would seem.

Still my point stands WoW is much easier when lvl hunting in it's current state.

Been playing this for just over a week now and it isn't letting go ... I have four alts already (Jedi Knight, Bounty Hunter, Sith Inquisitor and Trooper, although none of them higher than level 12 :o), which is something I didn't do for months in WoW.

Kind of undecided which will be my main at the moment as they all have aspects of their playstyles that appeal. Most likely the Jedi for sheer atmosphere (there is no cooler weapon in cinematic history than a lightsaber) or Bounty Hunter for the gunfire and pyrotechnics!

Bro and me did a Black Talon run this morning with our BH's, which was total carnage, great fun and more importantly I won all the boss drops: boots, body armour and blaster.

Whether or not I'll be resubbing at the end of the month is a no-brainer - I love MMORPGs and this is gaming heaven for someone who's been a SW nerd since he was 8 years old!

Feeling kinda jaded with the game at the minute, none of the classes are really compelling me to play them, and the 3 PvP Warzones are getting repetitive.

Found myself logging into Rift instead last night, just didn't feel any desire to log into SW:TOR. :(

I've found the one most annoying thing in the game and what seems to be a massive lie!

The Sith Marauder armours, in the game timeline and vids they always show them with robes and wearing light'ish armour.

In game though I've not found a robe style armour since I was lvl 15. It all looks like Juggernaut style robotic heavy armours and dresses.

The concept art shows nice robes, and I've seen Juggernauts around around the breathing mask help and blackhooded robe.

While most Marauders look like pansy Vaders in dresses.

It's really annoying me. I love the game, which is the first MMO in years I like, minus my terrible choice of server.

Yet this whole false armour thing is just so ugh!

Woo 6:2 (E:R) (and getting worse) ratio on Niman at Ilum :D
More for us to kill, when they aren't in a giant zergball, pretty good fun when it's even.

Anybody know who to contact in-game for the OcUK Republic guild on Kellian Jarro? The list on the opening page of the thread doesn't show a name ...

Presumably there's no OcUK Imperial guild on that server either?

Okay so my install has corrupted and now I can't get the damn thing to patch. Stuck in a repair loop. Trying my hardest to fix this as I have the whole weekend free :(

I'm hitting the wall a bit at level 39.

Logged in but can't summon up the will to level so just ended up dossing about with the guild, Sith ganking or working crew skills.

Someone tell me Hoth is a good planet? That might get me going again :p

Same here. Level 38 and cannot be bothered moving off the Republic Fleet :(

Friend had this problem, he removed the folder called "patch" in the SWTOR directory and it re-patched/fixed it.

Currently on Nar Shaddaa at level 23. To be honest so far, it's good but it's nothing great.

The thing that grips me is the main story, unfortunately that makes up a small percentage of the games content with the vast majority being the same tedious and repetitive kill/fetch item/exploration quests i've seen a dozen times before in WoW. I find myself trying to rush through the minor levelling quests as quickly as i can.

ToR isn't a revolution or the next stage in mmo gaming. It's just incorporated what was good in WoW and added the conversation/companion mechanics you see in Mass Effect and the original Kotor to make something slightly more new and slightly different so it can differentiate itself just enough from the competition.

Maybe I'm being a bit critical but i'm not even half way to the maximum level and i'm being reminded of the things that irritated me in wow.

- Walking long distances is beyond boring.
- Why do 90% of mobs stand still in preset groups. Would it kill them to add some more animation or even speach. It just breaks the immersion.
- Repeating the same selection of quests which are identical when you look past the visuals/narrative.
- Lack of immersion for the most part.
- Pesonally, i would have liked a more refined interface. While i'm familiar with the use of dozens of hotkeys it's hardly the most welcoming and streamlined interface/control scheme available.

I'm also amazed there is no multiplayer space combat. It's ideal for Protection/Escort type scenarios. Example: Republic protect a space station/ship in distress while the Sith try to destroy it.

I'll probably keep going to level my Inquisitor to 50 but i'll have to see how the game goes after that to see whether i want to keep subscribing as mmo's really do tend to require a large commitment of time and energy.

I prefer red tbh - what I am keen to get is a level 50 vader style helmet that I can mod (gutted I outlevelled my last one).

Well into 48 now and quite enjoying Corellia. Think I will get to 50, finish my class and possibly roll a new alt. Potentially a sorc.
