Loop installed (GPU), now can't run full screen apps

So,

I installed my GPU loop (Dual ati 5970's), and after 4hours of leak testing I have booted the rig. All seems fine and dandy, temps are around 26c across all sensors on the card, highest being 31c on one of the gpu cores (not sure if dodgy tim application, or if that is the core running my display).

However, as soon as I launch a full screen application that so much as puts load on the gpu(s) the system freezes. This happens with heaven bench, furmark, Skyrim, Stalker SOC.

Any ideas what the problem might be? I'm doing a full system image now (to restore if the following doesn't work), which afterwards I will reinstall windows 7 and apply all the latest drivers (I think they are all up to date now).

I very much doubt it's anything to do with your loop or watercooling.

Sounds more like a graphics card problem, so try re seating, clean install of drivers, latest BIOS etc.

Same thing on a clean install of windows, as soon as a 3d application finishes loading, the system freezes. Also, remounting the cards is a near impossibility without draining the entire loop.

Just to note, the Unigine Heaven benchmark will run just fine in windowed mode. I haven't tested anything else yet.

What happened to fix it then?

It would just randomly start working again after 12 hours or so. Also, I'm closing this thread due to finding the problem in another: The cards have the "cold bug" in which the system will crash if the cores are under 30c.

Just waiting on links to the correct BIOS update now.

Never mind, seems I can't close the thread.
