That depends how you define 'knew' for starters.

Either way, reporting people you suspect (in this case, pretty much 100% know) are committing crimes isn't really 'kiddy', unless you were referring to yourself doing nothing about it?

What I said is true though, is it not?

If you have no money and are being 'hounded by debt collectors', surely having a child and then having to steal to support it is just beyond stupid/selfish/idiotic?

You won't get any genuine or sophisticated answers here. You gotta know that right?

well mate outside the perfect life, people make silly choices, poor people are often poor in money yes, but also poor in choice making and skills to get jobs and so on.

I have no idea if the baby was planned, but the lad they also took in off the street shows they have a good side, some people just break the law when ends are not met. Im not condoning this and i know they are 'dodgy' on many things, but i also see past that and know they have plenty of good in them. if i saw a random doing what i saw yeah i would shop them.

Well, it's up to you. You've got to suffer living near them.

well i think if it was anyone else i would, but i know they are broke and being hounded by debt collectors, just had a new born and also taken in a 15 lad who's mum did not want anymore :(

so im gonna let it slide, DOES NOT MAKE IT RIGHT, but each to their own.

hmm

my friend at work owns a petrol station franchise - his wife runs it day to day as her full time job - they make virtually no money from the petrol itself and most of the income comes from the shop. Every so often (more regularly these days) some driver turns up, fills up his car and drives away without paying - some of these people use fake number plates so are very hard to catch - it hits them quite hard as a business. If they weren't taking a hit on these thefts then they could afford to hire additional part time person, his wife wouldn't work such long hours etc..

If you're going to witness a potential crime and choose to do nothing about it then you're part of the problem tbh... plenty of petrol stations are owned by small business owners, they get by on fairly ordinary incomes and could really do with as much help as they can get in stopping these sorts of robberies.

The police probably wouldn't give a toss anyway. They didin't care about me when "someone's just tried to steal my car", they most definately wouldn't care about "someone replacing their number plates wearing a big jacket and a cap."

They would if he gave them the reg on the plates and they also had a drive off reported from a garage in the area.

We are assuming, of course, that the swapping of plates was in order to steal petrol and nothing more serious than that.

As someone whos' mother was a victim of crime tonight (see motors forum for pics of up car which has been smashed up with a brick)...all I will say is you should shop the ****.

Bit of a moral conundrum for some.

Personally i would shop them, however i don't agree with such statements such as "shouldn't have kids without being able to support them" statement
as life isn't always that clear cut or simple and to make such statements without knowing the situation behind said decisions is silly.

FWIW, i don't think he was concealing his true number plate in order to throw a brick through someone's window ;)

In fairness though, it's probably more sinister than that.

You're right of course to be honest it doesnt matter whats happened tonight...OP, you should still do the right thing.

TBF, from hearing about all your experiences and how you're "in" with the people who can get a Mac10 in 3 minutes, they probably think you're a bit of a div and trying to be a bad boy and that's why they probably don't care much for you.
