hi, i recently bought a 360mm black ice gt gen two stealth of the mm which i received today however when i look into the inlet and outlet i can see what looks like rust in there, is there anyway i can get rid of this whilst avoiding money? I've already flushed the rad a few times with boiling water with from the kettle and shaking it about abit, its just the thing is when i empty the water out of the rad its clear and not red or anything, so all in all what can i do about this whilst avoiding spending anymore money?

Sure its rust? Rads are usually all copper, you can buy radiator flushing solution from car parts shop but should be ok if you put some anti corrosive additive in with the water

it looks like rust to me ( you can see the colour of the inlet/outlet threads are different) when you say put some anti corrosive additive in with the water do you mean flush it again and put it in or whilst in a loop?

sorry for being such a noob :D

It is not rust, its normal tarnish you always get on brass, which btw will have no affect on cooling performance. The reason the threads are different is that the mechanical mating caused by metal to metal contact between the threads, as well as being isolated from water, so it hardly tarnishes.

There's special additives you buy to mix in the water, coloured if u want or clear, upto you but I would put some in and run the watercooler it will be ok,you leave it in permanently

thanks that cleared up a lot of things :)

and wazza do you mean things like that silver coil thing you can put in your res?

Pretty sure you're seeing the copper of the rad, I have a new sr-1 360 and I think mine looked the same (can't really remember tbh though). If you have flushed it plenty and it's coming out clear, I would think you'll be fine :)

dyes/additives generally solution you add to your water to stop it corroding or growing green algea (cant spell it) ect

Dyes have nothing to do with it.

It's biocides or kill could you need. The dye is simply for colour. Ur some premix dyes also have biocides mixed into them.
