Blazers

Blazers - not the school type but the slightly casual ones ie:

do people here wear them? or shall I just not bother? Im getting old and I always like to attempt to look good if I go out etc, Big birthday do tomorrow so thought id buy one? Epic waste of money?

Why should you be bothered if other people wear them or not? You wear them if you like them and if they suit you tbh. Personally I have 2 blazers (not like the one you posted but more formal/casual hybrid) that I wear casually with jeans/chinos/cords and a tshirt (oh yeah, Mr Tea Drinker wears cords from time to time).

Feels good man.

lol, im sorry mr fashion - id rather not spend £1000 on some ****ish attire. just £100 thanks.
I shouldnt have to apologise for attempting to mix up my wardbrobe a little and I tried it on and its anything but poorly cut.

I wouldn't wear one like that. I think the blazer thing has sort of been and gone, but done it under the horizon. I think you'd be better off with well fitted dark jeans and Converse and a smart half-length wool jacket in black. Underneath, a t-shirt with a dark coloured tight fitting jumper over the top. Scruffy scarf if you need it.

Just going on what the post-hipsters are wearing in London, but it's a good look imo :)

I think it was about seven years or so ago that Blazers became the in-thing for men. Everywhere you looked you saw people wearing jeans, a printed t-shirt, blazer over the top of it and possibly some kind of necklace.

It was a look that became well overdone, but people of course still wear blazers now.

I personally tend to save wearing mine for smarter occasions and business type affairs, it works with jeans, jumpers, shirts etc...

i appreciate your constructive post...
think I will give it a miss for now then and just keep to my jacket which is pretty tidy.

I remember the blazer fashion back maybe around 2004. On non uniform day it was garanteed for most guys to ditch their school blazer and go for the blazer and jeans looks. It did look quite smart back then. I just couldn't get into it, but I prefered the scruffy fashion =P

Get yourself a decent fitted jacket (i.e. at least aquascutum), pair it with a pair of sharp jeans, shoes/boots, a white shirt and a pocket square. Proceed to look ****ing awesome.
