Smoked by Windows Phone

Who needs to find a restaurant that fast though? Another few seconds wouldn't have made a massive difference. What a rubbish test.

Is there a youtube app comparison between those 3 devices?;)

I want windows, specifically lumia900, but at the same time, is it worth it or wait from windows8, especially as we haven't even got a uk release date.

After Windows 6, I will never go back to Windows again. Though fair play to Samsung, the phone is destroyed and still keeps going (barely). Can't beleive I'm still using it.

Just seems Windows lose interest in it. Maybe Win7/8 is different, but I for one will be staying far enough away. Don't see the point for the casual user when Andriod/IOS is out there.

7and 8 are nothing like 6, and you are missing out be having such a odd mentality. They aren't even comparable. Yes they did lose interest, they got beaten by ios and then android and rather than sticking with a failed Os they started again, which was the correct move.
Windows 7&8 is very much on par with ios and android.

One of the biggest points is you have a seamless desktop accors 5 platforms (pc, xbox, laptop, tablet & phone) you can sync apps, files and even where you are at in what ever your doing.
You Have many of the good features of ios without many of the downsides.

Did Windows Mobile even support capacitive screens? I had an Samsung Omnia through work & it was awful!

Played with someones Windows Phone 7 handset and it seems great, very snappy!

Have to agree with Glaucus, Windows phone 7/8 is a very good experience, I was not sure before I got my lumia 800 but after going into a shop and seeing how well it all linked together I couldn't wait to get one.

I've used iOS only a few times and can agree on many levels it's a better OS than most in some ways, but for me now WP7.5 just blows other operating systems out of the water.

Watch some reviews on the OS and you'll see it really is a fantastic OS with a good future.

Oh I should mention as well wp7/8 hasn't got anything to do with windows mobile 6 either. It's not a continuation. Wp7/8 is closer to windows (though not much, it's all based on the new design that was introduced in vista, windows7 added a lot to it and windows8 has pretty extensive changes) than the discontinued windows mobile range.

I love mine, far better than the symbian phones I have had, admittedly Ive done nothing more than play around with android, but I have it on my HP touchpad and I am not a fan. I really like the live tiles.

TBH I love my Windows Mobile 6.1 pro based Xperia X1 - the resistive touchscreen on it absolutely walks all over any capacitive touchscreen I've ever used (aside from the down side that it can accidentally do random stuff if the screen turns on while in your pocket, etc.)

For me tho what I loved about 6.1 was that unlike earlier versions it provided a very solid underlying OS with lots of features (many of them completely missing from WM7/8) and you could strip it back to "bare metal" and rebuild the OS to completely suit your useage - granted not very consumer friendly but something that from what I've seen you can't do with 7/8 which also is missing a lot of underlying features - for instance not sure what state copy and paste is in now but previews lacked unified OS level support for it.

Test is complete crap. Guy knows exactly what he was gonna do the other's never hard a chance. If the other guys 'had an app' similar to his and had practiced, it would have been a different story.

Pure marketting stunt. Nice one MS.

Still think WP7 wastes real estate on the small screens.

This is said a lot about the space not being used right...exactly what does this even mean?...bigger tiles?....screw over the intuitive UI for what exactly?

Exactly, it's nonsense. Like iOS, android or normal windows/Linux utilise 100% and don't have massive amounts of black screen. Infant I would got so far as to say I recon wp7 has the biggest screen utilisation.

I wouldn't say it's an intuitive UI personally. It takes getting used to just like other UI's do. I found that I couldn't fit all the simple stuff on the screen I wanted with WP7 (ROM's I admit), and was continually having to scroll down because it wouldn't fit. I found it annoying.

I've not seen mango, so maybe they have added useful/critical stuff like notifications ? (That were missing from WP7 originally)
