Well I graduate soon and amidst sending off graduate scheme and various job applications I want to be sure not to miss any options!

So where did you end up fresh out of university?

Admin temping - but I've had a grad job lined up for over two years before that.

It's not that bad, nice team and fairly well paid considering :)

Contracting job at the company I'm still at. Don't turn down a job just because it isn't a permanent position. A lot of companies hire from their contract staff into permanent roles as they don't need retraining. Get yourself known amongst the contracting/temping agencies and pester them if you need to.
Under the current climate, with fewer permanent jobs available, there are more contracting jobs about as they don't involve a long term commitment from the employer.

IT Support for the local NHS trust, I lasted 7 months before taking a 10K pay rise for a similar job elsewhere!

Did I.T. degrees. First job that wasn't through an agency was working as a Supervisor for a national/international haulage company. Reasonably well paid for what I did. Bizarrely I was head hunted (perhaps a bit much to say H.H'd) from a job at Toshiba which I was doing through an agency. I was offered a permanent position at Toshiba but the other company were offering a fair bit more which they couldn't/wouldn't match.

2nd job (still in it) was as a Software Developer.

Sometimes it's about just having a job and getting the money in. I also used the experiences from the 1st job, although unrelated to gain the 2nd job by using examples from it in the interview.

Communications dept for NHS. Was there almost 2 years and enjoyed it, then moved into specific IT/Website work.
