They made Me Excited Then They Dashed It .....

I got the same e-mails and I don't even have Virgin for broadband; only for TV.

Am I getting broadband from them and not even know it?

You are all lucky, i have to buffer a lowest quality youtube vid

Yep 20K... yes K... bps

Its so bad talk talk are giving it to us for free.. Thats a week plus to download a game, hence retail only

Is all cable broadband unreliable? The flats I'm in is not providing by Virgin, but it's on a fiber line which I assume is cable, sometimes we get 10mbit download and upload, but quite a lot we get crap speeds like 0.3mbit down /0.2 up

Why is it so slow? I'm surprised you loaded this page.

I have 100meg but during peak hours experience poor latency and packet loss. I'd actually rather pay more for a rock solid 50meg service rather than have my speed bumped to 120 and the cost reduced.

It's all about headline figures unfortunately.

Using my phone on 2g, its quite quick to render. Its 50KBps for normal non streaming, we are miles from a non llu exchange. Not only that but router always cuts out, need to get the new one working

Ah right. At home it's about 2 miles from the exchange for me and downloading speed in apps is around 470kb/sec so that's about 4mbit I think? Not bad I guess for the area and considering my parents are on TalkTalk. No llu yet just that "ADSL MAX" whatever that is.

Just to clarify its 20kilobytes streaming ag home, asdl 2, and 50kilobytes normally, sometimes we get 120kilobytes, thats really quick.

All i ask is that i can stream iplayer etc in hd without buffering, but we are far far short of any streaming, on good days we can stream low quality radio, but not at peak times.

I cant imagine what it would be like to stream a blu ray quality film..wow
