I had a wart!!!

As hand warts are contact contagious and passed onto others what is the best way to sanitize sterilize work surfaces and items they have been handling. ?

Yeah, but the damn things grow back in a matter of weeks....I even tried to dig out the (alleged) root of the one on my hand, but it still came back. (after the hole in my hand healed)

The doc said I was a nutter, froze it, tied it up, dressed it and after a couple of weeks it fell off and hasn't returned.

douse the **** out of it with undiluted TCP while you cut it out always worked for me.

stung like a mother though.

detol spray?

or any air drying alcohol gel cleaner for an easier time.

Bazuka is rubbish. I tried for years when i was younger to get rid of veruccas with that damn stuff then i just bought some Wartna and freezed them off and within a week they were gone.

+1 The only stuff that ever worked was the freezing stuff. Hurt like hell but effective

Scalpel knife and cut it out,
The hardest part is getting hold of the root (I used tiny pliers) with all the blood.

Had to do it a couple of times but it was either the wart or me, and I won.

Grrrr.

I used this super strength acid stuff once that stings when you use it, then in the morning just chop off the white skin with a Stanley knife and start again the next night. I've also used a soldering iron before :D

I had about 4 or 5 or them on my hands for a couple of years. One summer they all just disappeared. Strange.

TMI time!

I used to have loads as a kid. One turned up after cutting my hand falling over in a playground, on my palm. It then spread - eventually I had two on one thumb, one on the other, a couple on the finger pads and the original one had formed a cluster. I got verrucas too, it was pretty depressing.

Used all the usual bazooka-style remedies around at the time, which really didn't get me anywhere (the one I had required filing, soaking, reapplying every day), and the freeze-cans you could buy were a bit too much to use on my hands given the placement of my warts, and on my verrucas they just blistered the skin around them, leaving the verruca happy as larry surrounded by red, angry sensitive new skin.

Anyway, I think a mixture of two things happened:

One, I broke my arm, and the cast I think somehow starved some of the warts on my palm of oxygen or something, or just made the environment a bit too moist and stuffy for them to survive - so they shrank almost to nothing.

Two, I think the onset of puberty just scared all the others off - they suddenly had other lumps and bumps to compete with and couldn't handle the pressure!

I have since had one or two threaten to appear on my foot and hand, as soon as even the slightest glimmer of something wart-like appears now I dig them out ASAP - not had one for years now, touch wood.
