*** Official OcUK Minecraft Server - Discussion and Rules ***

We did that as a one-off when Minecraft went from beta to release.

So yeah, when that happens again we'll do the same again...

Then to claim that permabans don't work like that (in the sense of giving people second chances) is surely false as you previously let permabanned people back on.

ooooo I got the eyes!

You got the eyes because this is a dumb line of questioning/discussion.

A one off exception to a rule does not suddenly mean that permabans are now one-week bans. Surely that isn't hard for you to understand?

*sigh*

He asked for a second chance, you said that isn't how Permabans work, but you've previously allowed Permabanned members back on.

Where has the 'one week' ban line come from? Merely pointing out the hypocrisy in the line 'that isn't how permabans work'

If members were permanently banned they shouldn't be allowed back on regardless of circumstances. They proved they can't be trusted.

I really can't be bothered getting into another pointless discussion with you where you try to argue semantics. The situation is quite clear to anyone that isn't attention seeking or arguing for the sake of it.

This is exactly what nikeair et al have done previously in the thread and was part of the reason they were banned. I don't have the time or desire to sit here all day to justify my actions to people like yourself and nikeair and though I wouldn't have expected better from you, I would've at least expected you not to nitpick the wording of a post in defence of a group of people that clearly should not be allowed back on the server.

Anyhow, that rant aside I really can't be arsed repeating myself further on this so I won't be responding to anything else from yourself or Nike about it.

You seem to be misguided under the impression that I was in defence of Nikeair? I'm not. I was merely pointing out the hypocrisy in your stance on permanently banned members.

You'd have thought the previously 'perma' banned members clearly showed that they shouldn't be allowed back on the server yet they were given a second chance.

People in positions of authority should be able to justify themselves too, also I don't appreciate your attempt to make this personal. It's petty.

Tummy, let it go. The previous "amnesty" was due to moving from beta to release and it was made clear it was a one-off due to the situation. Whilst you're correct that this was a "second chance" for previously banned members a one-off situation is fairly self-explanatory i.e it's not happening again! :)

Cheers for helping point that out :)

it also clealy showed that the decision to give an amnesty was wrong as pretty much all the peeps given a second chance have now been permabanned again :)

Agreed. It was a bad idea (of mine), though not completely borne out of a desire to forgive players. Part of it was to allow us to clear up our records keeping for banning/etc.

aye it was worth it to see some peeps come back gloating then go back to their old ways and get kicked out, particularly funny after some made some hefty donations :D

How many of the previously banned members (on 1.7) have come back to play and not been banned?

Compared to the number who have come back and been banned?

Phosgene has come back and not been re-banned. He has been a good boy :)

He wasn't really a trouble maker though, just one stupid night drunk and thought he could be funny by making peoples builds vanish which resulted in a ban.

My offence was much less than this. I accidentally deleted an unmarked spawner which apparently belonged to someone. :) I only hope for a second chance to prove that I am and was trying to take the server seriously.

You got your second chance after the initial ban

I was not let back on the server after the initial ban. :)

It's difficult to read through this thread now, when it's just a load of childish bickering from people who were banned from breaking the rules...

Does anyone even play the game now or do they just prefer to moan about it?
