Since when was there ever petrol powered shavers, hair dryers, desktop computers, photo-copier printers, kitchen whiskers, TVs, fluffy dog toys, vending machines and card readers?

All of those things in the advert have always used electricity.

Talk about missing the point.

The whole idea is that you use electricity for everything else so why not use it in a car...

Fail thread is fail..

And where will the electricity for your car come from?

Well it doesn't come from petrol? You're just massively off the mark with this one. The advert even has a disclaimer at the end quoting that electricity may be generated using polluting methods.

To be fair to the OP, in the advert it does actually say "You already switched to electricity for many things." Funny, I don't remember switching from my 2 stroke petrol powered PC :D to my fancy new electrical powered computer :p

Should have said something along the lines of "Electricity powers most of the devices in our lives, why not add one more to the list.

The new Renault Z.E"

:)

Here's the advert, I'm sure you'll agree it sounds odd the way it is phrased.

Go to 45 seconds for the quote.

So OP should have explained this much much better...and also provided a link to said advert.
