Having already placed an order for a new phone for the moment I'm not too fussed about this, but this definitely seems like a potential big seller when you factor in its gargantuan battery (3300mAh; 800mAh bigger than the Galaxy Note with a screen 1 inch smaller!) and the fact it's still only 8.9mm thick. Set to be a bit more expensive than the current Droid Razr, this could well be the phone for those well and truly sick of smartphones needing charges halfway through the day to make it to the end :)

Other specs are all the same as the original Droid RAZR, so 1.2Ghz processor, 4.3" qHD sAMOLED advanced screen, 1Gb RAM, 16Gb storage (32Gb expandable) etc.

Looks pretty good to me, even with 720p screens etc floating around.

Looking into the future with my mad skillz I can see shoddy support for anyone outside America.

This does look good though and should easily last a couple of days with light use.

Samsung make me one naow!

Will be good to me soon :-D Just have to find the worst value contract as advised ;-) (Looks a lovely phone, and for once, a decent capacity battery, as charging every day or being in fear of actually using your phone and it then running out is crazy).

Looks like a great phone :) Will be a tough choice between this and the Nexus when my upgrade comes round in April.

who says this will be coming over here?

The Droid RAZR came out over here so with a bit of luck this will follow seeing as we don't get the Droid 4. It would be a missed opportunity if they didn't as there is definitely a market for a long battery life smartphone, let alone one that still manages to remain this thin

I dont know about anyone else, but my Samsung Galaxy S II and ZTE Blade lasted 2 days on a single charge on a regular basis. This is another pointless release from Moto designed to milk more money from the average consumer.

This phone will last 4-5 days before you need a recharge then... Doesn't sound pointless to me?

You really go 4-5 days without seeing a power source?

Thats why external batterypacks like the proporta and tecknets
are essential companions.

With a commute particularly if you're using a lot of data it can kill the battery, and the main reason I don't like using my phone as a media player is because of battery worries. As long as this doesn't take longer than a night to charge then there are no worries here.

I'm waiting for the Motorola Droid 4. Practically the same as the RAZR but with a slide out QWERTY keyboard.

So that's Android and QWERTY. :D

You'll be waiting a while considering we didn't get the Droid 3 and other than blackberry devices, qwerty phones over here tend to flop hard. Also the Droid 4 has a smaller, non-AMOLED (I think) screen, and the same size battery as the original RAZR (smaller battery, but not AMOLED so battery life I expect to be similarly poor).

There are no guarantees it will even be released over here, with Motorola you really don't know.

As for the battery, it's definitely nice, but charging packs and backup batteries aren't exactly expensive and you'll get a much better device for it.

Let's not forget the fact this is still the rather disappointing Motorola Razr - just fatter with a bigger battery.

Keeping my fingers crossed for the Droid 4, my thinking is that we skipped the milestone 3 so should defo see the 4... Fingers set to maximum crossed!

It's a CDMA and LTE phone, both technologies which we don't have in the UK. And the reason it has such a massive battery capacity is that LTE 4G radios drain them something ridiculous. It's kind of cool, but I wouldn't expect to see it over here.

Still, it's a very slim phone for such a large capacity. I suspect Li-po battery rather than li-ion? I've ordered a 3500mah battery and it's crazy how they just stack say three standard batteries on top of each other to create a bigger version. No need for it. Bigger case sure, but they can get creative with battery arrangement.

Also, if that phone were to come over here, they would probably change the tech for the european version anyway, so it doesn't mean it 'won't' come here.

(EDIT: actually just read the specs, it's actually li-ion! surprising (although safer)).

That is a lovely looking phone (just looked at the gallery).

Its no bigger or thicker than most standard handsets and has more than double the capacity.

It sounds anything but pointless to me. Then 2 posts down you recommend buy external chargers and battery packs which suggests your phone doesn't have enough juice.

I don't understand.
