Zone Of Enders & MGS HD collection

Pretty strange that MGS1 isn't included. It's surprising MGS4 isn't included as well. Calling it the "MGS Collection" is quite a loose use of the word "collection".

It'll be interesting to see what graphical enhancements are used. Especially considering how impressive MGS2's graphics still are.

That'll also be the case for the ZoE hd collection. Those games are pretty much still graphically flawless. It's hard to believe they can substantially improve the graphics without overusing "brown" and "bloom".

They can't include MGS4 if they want to sell it on the Xbox as well. Think how many DVD's it would need...

They could probably charge full price for a MGS1 remake. Thats the only reason I can think of why it isn't in this set.

Anyone remember the boss battle with The End? :D

I never used to bother fighting him, well, I did on my first playthrough but it took me ages to kill him, instead I just went to my PS2's main menu and changed my clock to a week in advance, then when you load the game up you get a call from Major Zero saying that The End has died of old age, it's awesome. :D

I think you can kill him after a cutscene when he's sat in his wheelchair as well, but I never tried that.

These are the things that make MGS games immense. Its the details. It's the reason I still think MGS is one of the best franchises. Equal to Final Fantasy and Resident Evil. Every other game...ever created trails behind those 3...>insert obligatory IMO<

Most epic boss battle ever. "SANKE!!!..... THIS IS THE END"

Probably one of my favourite moments and another classic MGS one, was calling Meryl in MGS, where he is telling you over the codec to look for the frequency on the back of the case, and you don't know what he is talking about. I genuinely had no idea what i was supposed to do, when i had a crazy though "he doesn't mean the actual CD game case does he" Brilliant!

I played a bit of Peace Walker last night on my PSP, it is very good actually, though the controls are terible and some of the boss battles are a bit of a chore.

Please bring MGS 2+3 to the PSP as well!;)

MGS is full of little amazing details, and I agree it is one of the best franchises ever made.

Cannot wait til February 2nd, going to pick up the HD pack for certain.

EDIT: I have just been blown away, literally. A colleague of mine who is an avid gamer, has only played MGS 4. He has neve rplayed another MGS game.

:(

That must have been an interesting experience. Can't imagine he'd have had any idea of what was going on throughout the entire game, it's not big on backstory really.

ZOE was a great game.

Really do hope they release another one. Loved the Manga/Anime look of the second one

Just a quick heads up - Zavvi are doing the LE of the MGS HD collection with T-shirt artbook and steel case similair to the one that sold out in the states a while back! pre ordered mine!

Zone of the Enders (the 2nd one especially) really was fantastic.

The first one was a bit primitive and it didn't really need to be free roaming but the second one - wow, just wow. What a fantastic game. It's also one of the best looking games I've ever played. It's going to look absolutely fantastic in HD.

Hopefully, if ZoE collection is a success, they'll make a third one. It definitely deserves a sequel.
