New Car..... Inspire me!

Looks cheap imo.

Too cheap perhaps?

It has a fair slab of power but it's still a bit 'meh'. Subarus, at least in the North East, appear to be driven by increasingly ageing old men and women - and the amount i've seen on the back of trailers and roadside with the AA/RAC is quite scary really.

That is perfect for my requirements, however 2 issues.

1. It's 6k over budget (maybe 5 if I haggle)
2. Not sure - but what are the servicing costs etc? And repair costs?

I imagine they are quite reliable though

Be like the Mustang, pretty much change oil and filter every 10k, will be easy to do.

The engine is bullit proof, same unit as used in the Vette, so been around a long time and just had revisions made to it.

MPG will be terrible though, thirsty engine in a very heavy car, your talking worse than Mustang.

I'd say:-
Town = 8-9MPG
Motorway = 24-26MPG
Combined = 12-14MPG

But servicing and repairs will be cheap.

If you could stretch the budget a little. This would be a winner

I see two problems with that.

First you will have the constant fear that it will come into your house int he middle of the night and kill your family.
second is that its on american plates so the taxes have probably not been paid yet which would come to another 6k on top.

Would import costs already not be paid considering the car is on British soil? And surely the dealer in question has included VAT in the price he is advertising...

All that is involved is a registration fee of £55.

I think anyway....

It all depends on who imported it and why. It may be tax paid but its something you should find out about first.

In europe there are a lot of american cars that have not had the tax paid on them yet.

There is no chance that this car has a big tax bill owing on it. It's for sale from a performance car dealer, the price is £19995 not £19995 + £5000 tax.
