*****Official Star Wars: The Old Republic Thread*****

It's things like that which have made Bioware loose subs, i remember crashing non-stop in Taris with it's massive memory leaks. I looked on the forum and 3+ months before release it had a big thread on it. It still made it into release though.

Hopefully they pull things around, as it's not a bad game it's just been brought out half finished and Bioware are dragging their heels when it comes to fixing bugs/gameplay etc.

I have no doubt they will turn things around, but I don't see what is taking so long given the size of the development team. I have seen tiny mmo teams bring out patches and hot fixes almost daily for the first few weeks after release. No idea what bioware are playing at.

Like you say, many of these things were mentioned numerous time in beta. Lots of people kept telling me they had been fixed or were being fixed, but clearly not.

Well I had memory leaks, graphical glitches and an amusing bug where my companion would lie face down in the ground as if he was dead, but in reality was still alive and would still move with you. Nothing more than inconviences though.

The only bug I have had so far is the face down bug that you mention - difference is it would sometimes happen to my character. Nothing more than a minor annoyance.

Am i the only one to not have ANY bugs hit me at all?

Gotten suck a couple of times but /stuck fixed it .

Currently you are probably without knowing it.
There are no High res textures, and skill delay are both universal.

If you've ever used a shuttle and your companion isn't there, if you find a node and can't click or harvest it. There's plenty actually.

Some far worse than others, and many like the skill delay have been around since Beta.

I'm still hoping they'll sort out the High res textures though. Some people on the forum have gone as far as trolling anyone that speaks up about them having been removed form the game.

Rather interesting.

I've had quite a few with Taris and the massive memory leaks, to interface keep on crashing or not responding during combat etc and having to press ctrl+U twice to clear it. There is a massive skill delay bug aswell which is just very bad.

I also get the can't type in or see chat bug, not being able to see who is on in the guild, mouse cursor shooting up which i don't have in any other game and a massive thread on SWTOR about it. It was still there with a new mouse, format etc so can't be hardware/software related.

I've had minor things such as companions standing there, to lying face down, they keep forgetting what skills you disabled/enabled.

It's pretty bad considering a lot of these got into retail, one which annoyed me most was the Imperial Agent questline i kept getting blank boxes so i didn't know what i was choosing the option for good/bad and replies.

Speaking of memory leaks, I was preview armour on Vette last night and my fps tanks and game turned into a slide show until I close the preview window. :/

my PC is really struggling on Taris. Works fine for a while then stutters worse than Gareth Gates.

It's been partially fixed, should have seen it on release you'd crash every 5 minutes and sometimes get straight back in or end up right at the back of the queue. It still seems to have have a few problems, but nowhere as bad as it was the memory leak was game breaking.

I've had the guild bug since i first installed the game and it still happens on a regularl basis. Clicking on the guild flag icon once will show everyone who is online fine but when i close it and then open it again the list won't refresh correctly, with names not appearing. The same happens if i click on 'details'.

Some of the other bugs i've had and still have at times.

- Companion dying after entering/exiting your ship hanger elevator.

- attack animations continuing to play and be aimed towards an npc that i've just killed. I've had force lightning and blasters doing this. it's rather amusing to watch my Mercenary fire front the front and rear at once.

- The screen going black for some reason randomly.

- Textures failing to load properly.

Also is it just me or are the loading times in this game insanely long? It's why i've found myself making sure i log off inside my ship as it seems to load quicker.

Im throwing in the towel on this game. I can't get into it! All I see is a copy of WoW with lasers and lightsabers instead of swords and bows.

I think im cursed by playing that game for too long. Its like your best girlfriend, everyone who comes after gets compared to then.

If the game were a copy of WoW i think all their problems would be over! A lot of their issues are a result of the heroengine and im not surehow easily fixed that is, which goes some way to explaining the delay.

Anyway 4 days left, looking forward to some pvp tomorrow minus the impossible to kill high geared 50s.

Get yourself a copy of Ultima online and give that a try, still the best MMO out there :D

EDIT: Oh, and has anyone started getting spam emails about this game yet? Getting several daily now about me trying to sell it or something and asking me to log in to a page. spammers really are on the ball!

Going to sub for another month, myself. I had a couple of days where I felt completely unenthusiastic about the game, but ploughed through Hoth, and things picked up a bit. Just hit Belsavis on my Operative.

Another month to hit 50, do the rest of the flashpoints, finish the story and try the operations, and I think I'll shelve it. Too many other games left to even start to commit more time to TOR. As for server population, the one I'm on seems a little low, honestly. I'd have probably cancelled my sub this month if I hadn't created a guild and picked up some great people along the way.

To anyone trying to decide on a class, the Imperial Agent story is so good. It has some very difficult choices (especially if you forget about playing it light/dark and think about your decisions and their consequences, rather than just farming points...), betrayals within betrayals, cheeking Sith, shooting Jedi, and generally being the end nobody expects :D

talking about glitches...sometimes mine gpu is used in 20% or less and then its almost like reading a comic book...other times it uses over 50-70 and all is smooth...

Anyone on Hydian Way, is it me or has it suddenly become deserted? This was one of the busiest servers if I recall correctly!
(Admitedly I am not playing as much these days simply due to lack of time).

By the way - Rested Zones - Are they only in the Fleet area or Cantinas?

That's the only bug I've really noticed although it hasn't happened to my character just my companion - just finished Hoth and up to now had no crashes luckily.

I'll be keeping my subscription going. I still have a lot of Flashpoints and planets to explore, lots of skills to unlock and I'm pretty sure I will get many a giggle out of the game yet. Who knows, maybe they'll patch it one day too! :D
