Panini stickers was about it, it was relatively grim in school from the late 70's/early 80's, no one had any money for crazes.

the obvious conkers soaked in varnish
the footy stickers (i only ever completed premier league 1995 which was a black covered book)
tazo's, the things that came out the walkers crisps was another.
