In about two hours I'm getting christened. Basically I have wanted to be christened for a while and I'm getting married at the end of feb so now seems like a good time.

Question is, I'm 29 and have no idea what to do and or say! Does the Priest give a sheet to read off or something?

Anyone been christened as an adult?

Please let's not devolve this thread into a religion slanging match.

Just let the priest have his way with you and keep smiling when he gives you a sprinkle.

Who is going to hold you over the font?

Although I wasn't baptised as an adult I've been to adult baptism services before. What Church are you being baptised in? It may be different depending on the denomination but in a Church of England service you'll get a service sheet or book telling you what the priest will say and what your response should be.

Good luck, enjoy the day and welcome to the flock :)

Nah we were going to have a christening party but I've got to get back to London adterwards(christening is in Gloucestershire).

I'm just a bit nervous really as I don't want to be asked to do something I have no idea about!

I daresay if it was super-complicated you'd have to go to a rehearsal. The fellow leading the proceedings will have completed a million of these and so just try to relax, enjoy it and let him guide you along.

Expect to leave with soar knees and a parting.

Joking aside, I doubt you will have to say anything, the prest and godparents do all that.
