Lots of you probably already know this video, I rewatched it recently and couldn't help notice how timeless it was.

The video was done in 1991 yet if you went out today you could walk around in the same fashion and nobody would notice. Just think how dated anything filmed in 1991 looks from news programs to gameshows.

Makes you realise how ahead of it's time this video was. Even the music doesn't sound dated. Any other videos/songs/films you know of that appear timeless?

P.S: No I'm not a heavy grunge fan of any sorts.

Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit

I get what he means, he is saying that because the clothes in that video were not of that era. Where bright tango tops and nike shoes were common.
It's because they are a punky band hence they wear dark clothes..

T-shirts, jeans and converse aren't exactly fashion though are they? T-shirts and jeans have been a staple for about 30 years or more, and converse are designed to look retro so don't really go out of fashion as such. I know what you mean, yeah you could go out in this stuff nowadays and look normal but that's because none of what he's wearing is trying to be modern, up-to-date fashion.

Dave Grohl rocks!

Nirvana were overrated in my opinion.....'teen spirit' was a great song...everything else was pants.

As for the fashion....being a scuffy git as a kid has always been in fashion.....And always will.

Nirvana was anything but overrated. Nevermind is one of the best albums I've ever listened to.

Come as you are. ;) Kurt was a born again Christian B.T.W.
Amazing songwriter and lyricist. True genius.
I only liked Teen Spirit at the time, my sister liked them how could I?:)
Listened to and learnt to appreciate everything else post '97.

I'm not talking about one song, the whole album is awesome.

I disagree, with the exception of 'teen spirit' and 'lithium' I didn't really think much of the rest...

I'm not saying Nirvana were rubbish, far from it, only that they are overrated, largely I think due to Cobains death....I prefered Pearl Jam and Soundgarden, but like all these things it is entirely subjective.

I might dig put the album and have another listen, now I'm older I might think differently.

Dave Grohl though....is God! :)

Kurt Cobain renounced Christianity.....like many confused unstable kids who do not feel they 'fit'.....he assumed the habits and lifestyles of those around him....a trait that probably led to his suicide.

Your opinion of course but many would disagree with you, including me ;)

Teen Spirit is actually one of my least favorite songs of theirs.
