Thinking of getting a tattoo.

I'm expecting funny replies as usual in GD, but i thought at least some people would post some decent ideas/designs for a tattoo or two that i could ponder and possibly use and get a general idea of what to have on my body, i will also be searching for ideas as well.

I want a tattoo around my lower left abs [nothing like the playboy bunny or anything, more reaching half way to my chest], a tattoo on my right pectoral, a tattoo sleeve on my left arm reaching and finishing across my shoulder, and a tattoo on my back reaching just past the mid-section of my back.

I know i won't be getting this all done in one sitting as well.

I won't even get into the whole "Tattoos are so stupid" argument but if you're wanting one then you must have some idea of what you want.

A team you support? A important date? A name of someone dear? (Don't do the gf thing because getting it off = fail)
 
Well, the chest one i've got covered i think, as i want to get the three pets i had that died over 3 years due to old age done, but i don't mind tribal tattoos, dragon tattoos, gothic tattoos, tattoos that involve flowers [i know i'm going to get referred to as being gay for that].
 
Don't most tattoo parlors (remember to go to the good clean ones) have artwork samples in a book usually? Some of them also usually take pictures of tats they've done from requests.
 
you really need to think about what you want. infact you MUST think about what you want, simply because in 49 years it still gonna be there looking at you.

you cant really ask us to spec you a tattoo, its completely specific to you and your tastes.
Myself i like a mixture of fantasy art almost comic book style and the more traditional Sailor Jerry and Ed Hardy. In fact i like too many different styles to list or ever get!

Im currently in the process of designing a phoenix to spread up my lower abs/leg and chest.
Its a 2 part process, finish of this design thats taken me years so far and the important part......find my abs...ha!
 
If I ever get a tattoo it will be something funny:

This Way Up (written upside-down)
Car Park at rear
Exit Only
Bacon Sandwich (written in Chinese)

I really don't see the point of all the tribal stuff, you're white, english and probably not a cannibal or live in a hut or have any relation to anyone who is considered "tribal"

I do know what i want, and i've posted my ideas and i've looked on google to get a general idea to elaborate what i want as a design.

I was requesting ideas other than i posted, to get a wider spectrum of types of artwork involved that i might consider.

Id find a few styles you like and then have a think about which one/ones would suit the sort of design you have in mind.
 
It's been said in here a few times but you really need to know what you want. I planned mine for about 3 years prior to getting them done (partly because I was under age, but shh).
 
If you don't know what you want, and don't really want it, personally I reckon you shouldn't be getting it. You'll probably regret it in the long run.
