BMW Service : Overdue

IIRC, I was told they allow 500 miles either side. At least it was last time I asked, but may depend on the model / year of the car.
I'm sure someone will be along to correct me if I am wrong though.

I'm so far overdue it's stupid really. Still needs to be booked in tbh. I guess it depends on what aspect of the car it's overdue on.

Don't know, really. My problem is, 1000 miles is a weeks driving for me and if they don't have a courtesy car available then I can't take it in immediately, meaning I could be 2k or even 3k overdue :(

Yea but it doesn't just creep up on you does it? If you do 1k a week book it when it says 4k to go?

Better than mine with its countdown lights, I have one left and no idea when it will go out :p

I don't think there's a certain mileage. If the guy at BMW stamps it, then it's still FSH whether it's 1 mile early or 1000 miles late.

Well no, logically thats not true is it, or you could rock up for a service 50,000 miles late. I somehow doubt one stamp on a 70k mile car would count as 'FSH' to anyone at all, let alone BMW Warranty.

However practically speaking I cannot imagine 300 miles being a huge deal.

If Lucero is right that he is several thousand over though (Who knows?) then he could be in for a harder time should he have any sort of failure that could be possibly attributed to anything in the service.

You said there was no certain mileage

Therefore according to you, you could in theory go 50k over your first service and still have FSH

according to me? does 50,000 fall within -1 and +1000 then?

There must be some point at which a service is considered overdue to the extent that the servicing schedule has not been adhered to and therefore, really, the vehicle no longer has FSH. As I say for the now third time, I suspect this point is some way beyond where Headrat is therefore he has not a lot to worry about, but its rather misleading to suggest there isn't a certain mileage where its generally considered that, well, the owner has blown it :p
