Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning [360]

Yeah didn't think it was too bad. Not really along the lines of Skyrim, but has got its own style and i like the combat. Worth playing then demo as well to unlock the armour and weapon for Shepherd in Mass Effect 3. But i may pick his up later on when i'm in need of something new to play.

I do not like the way people are seeing this as second rate to ME3. It is a major release this year with some amazing pedigree behind it. I really hope it does well as the team have promised more in the future - possibly an MMO.

I thought the demo was ok, especially with my sexy, well endowed, red haired, red eyed female elf :p

Combat was decent but though the voice acting was iffy in places.

Haven't tried the demo yet but I'm quite looking forward to it. Only thing I can't stand is the appalling game name that sounds like it's been generated by a fantasy rpg name generator. Plus the token sub title as well.

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim??? :p

Well that's not too bad. But 'Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning'

1. It sounds like Amalur was from a name generator thing. Other things they considered were: Vengeance of Jihar and Quest for Hraask :p
2. It sounds like they looked around and though "everyone else has subtitles, we need one" Reckoning? At least Skyrim is to signify that it's set in Skyrim.

It's all to make sequels easier to name.

I'm not saying its second-rate to ME3, tbh I'd not heard much about it until i looked into it more after downloading the demo. I agree the trinity of people behind it is amazing and i know its a massive release, i am looking forward to playing the full game. And i was just commenting that it was nice to get some unlock for ME3 for playing the demo. I also think if anything i suspect you'll get a fair few people comparing it to Skyrim with it just being an rpg, even though they are quite different. It reminds me of a cross between WoW and Dragon Age.

Can't wait for this, just my sort of game! I pre-ordered this without even bothering with the demo, I know I will love it... besides, I want to save the entire experience for the full game.

Feels like a cross between Fable II, Dark/Demon's Souls and Skyrim, all of which are epic.

Shame there appears to be no special/collectors edition in the UK for this, well not one I can find anyway.

I played through the demo on the 360 and thought it was great. I did have it on pre-order on the PC, but have changed that to the 360. I don't think there would have been much to gain graphics wise on the PC and the game just seemed more suited to being played on the 360. It actually reminded me of Baldurs Gate : Dark Alliance a bit.

Tried this and I couldn't even get the demo to work. Created my character and the first cutscene showed my character as just a floating head :/ Then the game crashed. Tried re downloading the demo and same thing, weird.

Gave the demo a quick go after reading about it on Penny Arcade. Reminded me of Torchlight, which is no bad thing really. Going to give it another go, but it looks like a purchase to me at least.

This game includes an online pass(even though it's completely offline) that hides an entire quest line if you don't have it looky
And so it begins.....

Was just looking around to see if there are any special editions for this. It turns out there are 3 different versions, only available in America and Canada. Apparently due to licensing and legal issues we in Europe get shafted again

Yeah I know, really annoying! Games I love (or know I'll love) I like to get the special editions, but too often UK don't get them.. this is one of them!

Had a go over the weekend, it's OK but it doesn't feel very polished. I like the idea, and the storyline, but movement feels wrong, and clumsy. And the world just doesn't feel... right. One of those I can't put my finger on, but it doesn't immerse me, I could see myself getting bored fast with it.
