The Banter Thread

I find his interviews awkward, dislike the way he talks down to the person asking questions, I guess that's his style though, Mick Mccarthy or Roy Keane are far worse for it.

Tummy why would he apologise to Evra when his stance is still Suarez did nothing wrong along with the club?

Also he doesn't try to come across more intelligent than he is in interviews, he couldn't be ****ed with journalist trying to get him to say something they can sensationalise because the majority of them are *****.

How can his stance be that Suarez did nothing wrong?

Because it was one mans word against another and he was found 'probably' not as reliable as Evra.

Also the fact the club has every right to believe their own player, I mean he has got an 8 match ban when the previous guy who outright called someone a ****** got 3 games? Sounds about right.

Are you suggesting that everyone found guilty is always guilty in a normal court let alone the circus that is the FA?

Oh dear. I'm not having another discussion about this. If you still don't understand, you never will.

Been found gulity, club didn't appeal, lets move on. Theres so much egg on the face on the club, thats its best to move on.

i would love to see one of the super managers actually manage a mid table team with **** all money and then see how good they are and how good a scouting team they could build. having all the money is good, but have one of them manage a mid table team and turn them into a major force would be a good testament to how good they really are.

mourinho to everton. bring it on lol.

Would be interesting to see this for a season. Switch top 6 team managers into bottom 6 teams and vice versa, see how things ended up.

The racism incident was months ago and I've said all I have to say on it.

For the final time on the abuse Evra got on Saturday, all I'll say is your ignorance as to why he was abused is incredible and if you're really upset about the abuse he took, you need to grow a pair. However, I look forward to your condemnation of the far worse abuse we heard on Saturday and will hear at a lot of football games up and down the country as I'm certain that you're not just looking to score points.

Far worse on Saturday? :o

Suarez was found guilty of using racist language against a black footballer. That black footballer was vilified by Liverpool (in what was at best a pathetic and embarrassing press release) and by the Liverpool manager (all of this was admitted to have damaged the reputation of the club), the very same manager that refuses to accept that his player did wrong (despite the guilty verdict) and has down played and dismissed a racist incident since and now he's given abuse at the game (which included a monkey chant / dance thing) and you're still saying this is all banter? Are you being obtuse on purpose or are you really that biased?

All this has shown is that people that speak out against racism (Anton and Evra) are vilified by the fans, given abuse and threats by the fans, vilified and discredited by the opposing managers and clubs, all this in this day and age? Seriously Baz get real and take off your rose tinted spectacles.

If you fail to see the bigger picture and the negative effect that your club (and Chelsea's) have had on bringing racism to the front in football then you're deluded. Utterly deluded.

As for the comments about Saturday and needing to 'grow a pair' sorry, don't see how that is relevant? Players aren't vilified and abused for speaking out against racism every saturday. You're clubs behaviour, your managers behaviour and your attitude (and other Liverpool fans on here) is pretty much all that is wrong with the way racism is dealt with in this Country in football. You've tried to make it tribal and about 'clubs and players' when it's about racism and getting rid of it. Racist incidents certainly aren't or shouldn't be allowed to be commended by wearing tee shirts and protesting the innocence of a player who's begin found guilty of using racist language.

As I said, what sort of message does the abuse Anton and Evra have received over this send out to other players who suffer racist abuse? Deluded Baz. Utterly deluded.

Sorry for the DM style post.

As for the 'scoring points' thing, grow up man. I couldn't give a flying **** if this was Liverpool or my own club. Racism in football isn't something that should be tolerated, down played or in this case the victims given **** about.

Far worse on Saturday? :o

Are you suggesting that there weren't chants about Hillsborough on Saturday or are you suggesting that Evra getting boo'd was worse than them? Or are you on the wind up or plain stupid?

Given that it's coming from you, all 4 could be true.

Sorry for the DM style post.

DM both in style and content.

Evra was not boo'd for being black, he was not boo'd for reporting racist abuse. He was boo'd because people believed he lied (the extent of those lies vary), he was boo'd because he taunted the Kop and because he's generally a ****. Don't try to tell me why I dislike Evra.

Man Utd fan in not liking liverpool legend shocker

I had massive respect for Kenny prior to this and rated him pretty highly as a manager. He's had a massive car crash cluster **** over this and still doesn't have the intelligence or decency to come out and apologise.

Fergie might be an odious **** at times too. It's irrelevant.

I enjoy on here how at times whenever certain posters make a comment about an opposing manager you get the response 'fans hating club manager' and this somehow makes the point less relevant.

This is a general rant.

Chants about Hillsborough are irrelevant. The atmosphere was more akin to an old firm clash then anything I've seen in the Premier League. Not at any single point have I mentioned there not being other chants though. Well done Baz.

No. You're being obtuse if you can't see how this looks to the rest of the world, Liverpool have already lost face with how they dealt with the initial case, now you've had abuse targeted at a player who's spoken out about racism, a manager who continually (either through stupidity or some form of super intelligence) down plays and dismisses the matter as a trivial thing. You've had a fan arrested for a monkey dance, how do you think these look to the rest of the world? Even journalists in this country have picked up on it.

I'm not at all disappointed or surprised that you've stuck up for your club, but thought you were at least intelligent enough to be able to see the bigger picture.

I'm sure it looked like that to everyone who's a Liverpool fan sure.

What dribble is this? Hillsborough chants are irrelevant and Saturday was like nothing you've seen in the Premier League? :o

Talk to people that were at the game on Saturday and that have been to Liverpool vs Utd games in the past, rather than being a drama queen. Ask Gary Neville what the atmosphere was like in 2006 after he taunted Liverpool fans.

I'm not defending anybody, I'm speaking out against the likes of yourself that suddenly have got a big issue with players getting abused by the crowd when you've never mentioned it before, despite far worse things being chanted both in Saturday's game and most other weeks.

I'm sure it looked like that to everyone who's a Liverpool fan sure.

Well it is Liverpool fans who you're deciding what their beliefs are so yes.

You can tell me what you think it looks like to you, I couldn't give a ****, especially after the *******s you've come out with now. Don't tell me why I dislike Evra or why I might boo or abuse him though.

I agree with Purdy, it's a conzpiracee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everybody is against us. KKK! YNWA!

It isn't really a conspiracy though is it, pretty obvious regardless if he was racist or not he has been singled out for a heavier punishment than anyone ever before him for the same thing.

As someone said in the other thread, should have just stamped on his head and gotten less than half the ban.

Dribble? You really don't get it do you.

You're football club has vilified a player that has suffered racist abuse at the hands of one of your clubs players. You're club and manager have released butt hurt press releases and forced the issue to not be about racism but be 'United V Liverpool' which is down playing the issue.

Your club also wore tee shirts that showed support for a player later found guilty of racially abusing a black player.

Your club then played United and that black player suffered abuse, specifically aimed at the recent events in which he was found to have suffered racist abuse. Found by an independent commission. One of your fans was pictured making a monkey stance. These pictures have been broadcast all over the world.

Now if you can't understand the message this is giving off, coupled with the Ferdiand abuse, that speaking out against racism gets you vilified by the opposing club and manager, you get threats and abuse from the fans for suffering racist abuse you're beyond hope.

This gives off the message that speaking out against racism is more hassle then it's worth. You think other black players watching this will see a positive light at the end of the tunnel? Seriously, it's been broadcast all over the world and the 'well Liverpool fans didn't like Evra to begin with' is a bull excuse and the excuse that they were giving him abuse over what essentially was speaking out against racism is a little more to the point. It became trivial, and as a bi-product of that has made speaking out against racism a bad thing.

It's like football has come so far away from the racist abuse players got and these two incidents have set English football back.

Look at the bigger picture and man up dude. If you fail to see the massive negative effect these two incidents have had you've not so much got rose tinted glasses on but rose tinted eyes.

oo check you out keyboard Rambo :)

If you could undestand 1 simple thing then a sensible discussing with you might be possible.

Liverpool didn't issue their statement, wear the t-shirts and our fans boo Evra because he suffered racial abuse. They issued the statement and wore the t-shirts because they don't believe Evra's version of events and they don't believe that Suarez racially abused Evra. If you disagree with that (even I do) that's fine, that's your opinion and that is theres. You both have a right to express your opinion.

Evra was boo'd because the supporters believed he lied (that belief could be like mine - he exaggerated his story or with others - he made it all up) and because he taunted Liverpool supporters.

Shock horror in player found guilty of racism getting heavy punishment.

At least he's not up for criminal chargers like Terry.
