Not sure how this will go down but I'm tired of the majority of problems namely crimes in society being down to mainly just one gender, men, you watch programmes like 'coppers' and you feel embarrassed, 99.99 percent of the people on these shows are men, obviously there are women out there that commit crime but nowhere near on the scale of men, muggings, robbery's, rapes, fighting, wherever you go in the world if you feel unsafe it's usually down to a man, when is this going to change?, is it an evolutionary problem?

Serious question, do you think this will ever go away?, it can't purely be down to testosterone levels can it?

I understand there is a flip side and men will say that we've fought wars that have lead to great advances in technology that have benefited society etc but was it worth it?

What would the world be like today if the male gender were a lot more passive throughout the ages?

I'm prepared to play devils advocate, I think maybe you could argue that we would be extinct as early in our development we heavily relied on our brute force aggression for hunting and survival.

Blokes are Blokes. We have a **** and ***** and are designed to get things pregnant and fight over them.

When we can't get things pregnant we tend to just.. well, fight over other things I guess.

Although I'm not one of those ***** :p

Men have balls, balls itch, itchy balls make men go out and fight. :p

Women make men fight, money makes them fight, other men make them fight and boredom makes them fight. It’s in our makeup and nothing will change it.

So fight, fight fight it will always be........

yeah pretty much a masculine genetic trait of all species ( might be making this up) is to fight and be dominant. This translates into stealing, mugging, raping, murdering and all the nice things thats wrong with society.

How many more Human beings would there be if we had skipped the Major wars in our history.

Even more over-populated, but I'd argue with more technology rather than less, as all that money and time could have been spent thinking about ways to improve the world.

That's a good point I forgot that, if all the money spent on wars over the ages were spent on science you could argue that we would actually be technologically better off right now, and potentially better medicines also.

Except that the biggest drive for technological advance is, and has always been conflict - i.e. how to get one over on your enemies.

Most of the money spent on war does benefit technology and scientific research:D

Because being at war creates more need for the technology to stop you losing the war, without the war creating the need the money would go elsewhere.

I understand that, but a less aggressive mankind might have other higher level motivations than beating one's enemy. Those motivations might include the interests of the entire human race rather than one's own race / country.

Jocks Itch will make you want to sit down and do NOTHING!

Going down the hypothetical route, if there were no women, man would have far less distraction and so be able to concentrate on science! Therefore becoming far more technologically advanced (we would have had to sort out cloning pretty sharpish for example :p)

You're going right to the heart of human evolution there though. Our ancestors lived in a very harsh world, where they had to fight to survive. If they didn't then we probably would have died out a long time ago. Unfortunately it's not easy for us to overcome those traits.
