Any modern alternatives to cannon fodder

loved it, might have to go dig my cd32 out my mums loft to give it a whirl again

COH is probably the closest thing these days but no humour :(

The closest thing I can think of is Darwinia. Completely different setting and more of an RTS, but there are some strong similarities.

There been nothing like it before or since, I brilliantly british game. Shame i can't even think of something like that even being accepted as an idea today.

They must have had a right laugh making that video (wallet photos). :D

I like listening to John Hare talk about past experiences generally, and also specifically about Sensible Software games such as Cannon Fodder :

This was easily (and when I think about it still is) one of my most favourite games ever. Whilst I would love an alternative I really wish the origionals would be re made. However no fancy 3d first person rubbish. Just new graphics, same levels, same sounds effects and controls etc. Good old fashioned gaming just spruced up. Or even just recode to work on Windows 7 lol

I would give anything to have these games working again in all their glory.

Did anyone else try and keep Jools and Jops till the end and would reload if they died lol. I did :)

No point in changing something thats already perfect.

Just rerelease it, unchanged but with huge multiplayer capability as a browser game.

People who loved it - get to relive their youth, people who've never played it - get to see what theyve been missing.
