Hi,

My wife has a netbook and needs a word processing app that can open and write Office 2010 files flawlessly. She wants something that is free- what are the best things to go with these days? (Bearing in mind it is a netbook)

Thanks

I used open office on a netbook for ages with no compatability issues.

I'm told Libre office is good, but I've never used it myself.

Open Office is still being regularly updated by Apache so there is no need for the "discontinued" comment.

I still prefer Open Office over Libre Office.

Open Office is essentially a dying product as most of the decent developers have moved to Libra Office. It may not be dead yet, but I'll most certainly be the runt of the litter.

He speaks the truth :D

Google the story if you're interested, or just compare the number of recent updates...
