RBS 6 Nations 2012

England unchanged for the Italy match.

Probably the right decision as the squad need game time together but if Palmer and Dowson are that ineffective again I expect to see Parling and Morgan on well before the hour mark.
Hard to be too critical of the backs as the forwards didn't win them much ball to attack with.

England have a combined 19 points so far and they have played/playing the 2 weekest teams (no disrespect). Fair play they havnt actually lost this game but id be scared against Ireland and France if I was England.

Not being entirely opportunistic but I remember telling my dad during the world cup that Danny Care should be the starting number nine because Youngs just doesn't seem the same players as when he debuted. It now seems even more apparent when Dickson is playing a blinder. He will be starting the next game I think.

On form Youngs is the best 9 in the country, he's just been rubbish recently; Danny would easily have started if he wasn't such a massive **** :( Dickson's played well today but I don't think he's anything special the vast majority of the time tbh.

Meh, another average performance, played very well for about 10 minutes. Before that we just reeked of the 'it's only Italy, we'll win regardless' mentality of old :(

I think this England side is a bit like rubber. They will stretch to whoever they face, but I think France and Ireland may snap them. Hopefully there will be some more attacking intent with Manu and Flood back in the side.

I really don't rate Hodgson, he's scored two ridiculous tries but slows the ball down so much, never does anything inventive, his kicking out of hand isn't good enough to make up for it and he doesn't even take penalties :/

I only caught about the last 20 minutes of the second half there and was surprised to see the scoreline was quite so close but England weren't looking very convincing. Then again they've managed two wins from two so it's not all bad from their point of view.

There's resilience to this England side I didn't expect given the number of new caps in the starting XV. Say what you like but they've won twice away from home, once without the ball and once after giving away 12 sloppy points.
Lancaster's clearly got some foundations laid, although the lineout was creaky again, plug Tuilangi and Flood back in and there should be more attacking threat from the backs.
