Whitney Houston dead

Whitney has substantially contributed to the music industry - just about anyone will recognise her name. I don't think her lifestyle in the latter years should detract from that, but of course, it will.

Fair point. It's not her music I have anything against. Just her behaviour and actions in recent years, as you say.

Not so much of a shock given her lifestyle since she came across Bobby Brown but sad nevertheless. 48 is too young for anyone to die. RIP.

it really is with famous people like herself who could have all the support and help that they could ever want

theres homeless guys with nothing to live for who've got off crack. if they can do it then anyone can !

i doubt she was forced at gunpoint to smoke it repeatedly until she became dependant on it either

its a tragedy but people are too quick to blame drugs in an americanesque way as though there was no other option than death

RIP

All in one.

Another great voice! It was gutting about her beauty queen scandal, but she made it eventually. :)

Indeed. Save the Best for Last was one that stuck in my mind from one of the Now albums. I shed a tear once to, Where Do We Go From Here from Eraser.

The 80's and 90's had such quality rich warm music compared to today. Not that I'm saying there's not some good stuff today but it's too few compared to the old days. Nearly everything is reality tv show based like X-Factor, Britain's Got Talent. None that I watch. It just feels trashy like watching EuroVision.

I miss the days when stars came out of nowhere not relying on instant fame shows and stars that last more than a few years compared to today. Everything now is driven by obsession for fame than pure quality. Remember all the tours? seems a thing of the past. Now it feels like most are armchair critics and what's good today is horrid tomorrow and all the internet slagging jargon that goes with it.

Whether you liked her or not I think everyone will agree 48 is too young to go out like that!

Only just found out after scouring the tv before hitting the sack, bit of a whoa moment but im not surprised with this! it always seems to be self implosion of some sort.

RIP.

Drugs or whatever else she may have done does not change the fact she was superb and touched many many lives.

RIP another legend :)

If anyone feels that they need to be disrespectful in this thread. Please do not post. Quite simple really.

RIP Whitney Houston.

Allways be the Bodyguard soundtrack for me.

Incredible to think see was only around 28 years old when she did that.

'I have nothing' Realy is one of my favourite songs ever... Thanks Whitney, great memories:)
