SB-E [C2] Stepping

Linx/IBT with 32gb RAM, Testing ALL 30gb + Takes me around 24 mins with CPU at 5.1+ghz and RAM a 2133mhz+ cas 9 with very tight sub timings.

Skyline what board you having trouble with multi overclocking on?? I read some MSI have this trouble.

Its the ASUS P9X79 WS(Would have thought the Rampage/deluxe/Pro principle would be the same) It just wont have it. I have tried the TPU Switch and that seems to be fine to start with. Simple switch overclock to 4.29Ghz but if i set the multiplyer to say 45x with 100Blk memory at 1600Mhz Voltage at 1.350(Tried up to 1.450) It either reboots and just powers off before going to the bios. Or if it goes into windows i start to run IBT and it will either blue screen or reboot. I have also tried running it at 130x35(4500Mhz) which was stable and ran overnight using IBT on maximum. Went into the bios and saved the profile rebooted and it powered off then on and gave error 62 and Overclocking failed...

I have also tried several guides (Most seem to be based on multi but Autotuner uses blk overclocking) to no avail.

What are your settings for VTT and VCCSA Skyline?? Post some bios settings It sounds like a memory issue this you tried memtest on your RAM just to check its stable?? You on 32 or 16gb RAM???

What Blue screen you getting??? What code?? Sounds like a memory problem this. For DDR1600 you shold not need high VCCSA or VTT anyway. Have you tried setting XMP in bios and leaving all memory settings at auto???

@ pazza316

Your signature needs a bit of a trim.

You may use a signature (commonly used in email messages) in your posts. You can specify in your profile a signature to use at the bottom of your posts. When you post, there is an option to use your signature. A signature may contain one or more images but they must fit within a box with maximum dimensions of 400 x 75 pixels (width x height) and with a maximum (combined) file size of 20k. Images containing mostly very large words or animated .gifs will not be permitted. You may also add 1 consecutive lines of normal or smaller text directly above or underneath the image with no spaces inbetween image and text. If no images are used then up to 4 consecutive lines of normal or smaller text is permitted. Do not pad out your text lines with blanks lines. A line of text is defined as having a maximum length of 400 pixels. If you want to turn the signature off in the future, you can come back and edit your post. If you have specified a signature in your profile, the box will be automatically ticked for you.

I just called the number that was listed on the website, had an email from them confirming replacement. :-)

did you just ask them for a replacement or did you say you wanted it replaced because of x,y or z, sorry i'm not really clued up on the reasons why they misadvertised them. Mine has the stuck 12x multiplier although its since been fixed via a bios, i'd rather get a c2 stepping if i can.

Which number did you call mate. I have tried calling them twice and have got nothing. Evan though both times they where meant to e-mail with regard to a replacement. I maybe am not speaking to the correct dept. I have a C2 3930K in hand now gonna see how this one goes. My 3690X is a good one which I may not now swop. I want the correct details though in case I change my mind.

The one on this page

With my C2, I can do either:

48x multi 100 bclk which gives me 4.8ghz with 1.365v (not tried IBT yet) with vt-d disabled.

OR

38x multi 125 bclk and get 4.75ghz with 1.365v (not IBT tested yet) with vt-d enabled.

Not sure which is best yet.

If I leave everything at default and let it auto level up to 4.02ghz, I have had it IBT stable at 1.250v

Just thought I would update you guys. Just called intel and they are not swopping 3960x C1 CPU's for C2 as they did not advertise it would have VT-D support. I had serious issue with this as I know some people have got exchanges. They are very very inconsistent it seems.

Noobbuilder could you please PM me I am gonna collect several e-mails from Intel showing they have offered exchanges to others and call them back. Thanks.
